Awesome work. Good choice on the truck motor, I love the cost savings of them, and how plentiful they are here in Houston.
Almost finished the exhaust this morning. I just need to make some brackets to weld into the muffler for the hangers.
Also finished up the intake pipe. The filter was a tight squeeze and the hood just slightly crushes the corner. I wasn't about to hammer the fender well or downsize the filter.

Wow very nice project! Will you have it ready for bimmerfest next month? I'd love to see this in person!
It's gonna be close. The fab work is nearly done with the exception of a couple brackets. We'll see how the wiring goes. There really isn't that much, but the days tick by fast!
If I miss Bimmerfest, I'll definitely have it at Slipstream roll race event in October at Pocono Raceway.

The chassis must always be regarded as a means to an end and never as an end itself
If you miss bimmerfest I'll probably never get to see it in person since I live in FL . I'm making a trip up just for bimmerfest
This thing is going to be an absolute monster!

Primary fab work is done. Black muffler blends in nicely.
Topped off the oil sump with a filter.
Definitely going to need to remove the spring pads in the rear to level things out a bit. Front sits a bit lower with the extra weight.

Finished up the fuel pump wiring this morning.
Solid state relay for PWM control of the pumps.
Drilled and tapped the EGR blockoff as the boost/vacuum source.
Starting on the X20 to ecu wiring next.

Not a chance in hell Im going to make Bimmerfest with the tedious stuff I need to wrap up. However, East Coast Call Out is a go.

Started the remaining engine wiring to the new x20 connector. Hopefully will have it wrapped up later in the week.
A 90 degree 3/8" tube stem to 1/4" push to connect is a perfect fit into the headlight washer grommet on the euro washer tank.

Nearly finished with the wiring. Still waiting on some connectors and another fuse block for the relay outputs.

When you look at that last picture of your engine bay, it's hard to believe you squeezed a turbo in there!
Getting to the final stages. Wiring is done and started powering things up. I need to finish up the heater hoses, plumb the scavenge pump and get the right adapter fitting for the oil pressure switch.
Not much room left for anything. Good thing it doesn't need anything else!

Ready to add oil. The only thing left underneath the motor is to wrap the downpipe.

Looks like fine art! Can't wait to see some vids of this in action!
The to-do list is getting real short now.
Finished up the meth install, wrapped the downpipe so I don't melt my tie rod boot and started adding fluids.

What is the oil filter pump thing?
Scavenge pump for the turbo. Turbo is below the oil level in the pan so it can't gravity drain.

Using a pair of 9mm spring pads on each side to get my front ride height back. Due to the added weight, I'm thinking of running Bilstein sports in front and Konis out back. It's my understanding that the Bilsteins have a much stiffer dampening. So logically it should work well for this.

Had it on the road for the first time. Just a couple times around the block. Everything seems to be working as it should. The RXT clutch is awesome. It drives better than stock. VE table needs some work but that'll come with data logging.
