    You need a rear sump for the e36/46.

    Hi, I'm a newbie . Had jus bought a 1jz manual e36 . It is in a running condition , jus the rpm and water temp on the speedometer aren't working . Can that be hookup and work?

    Yes. One of the water temp connectors on a factory harness runs back to the x20 connector and that will supply the coolant gauge in the cluster. Usually people will weld in a bung to give them a spot to put the factory bmw sensor.
