So after a 2 year hiatus with the car in storage, I am planning my spring repair program. Before I take apart the door lock to replace the microswitch, I wanted to be sure of my diagnosis. The passenger front door will lock and unlock all the doors. The driver's door will lock all doors but not unlock all doors. What is the best approach to test the system to identify the problem?

Have a look at pages 5126-00 and 01. See that driver's door lock switch Unlocks by placing 12V on the BLU/BRN wire which is on pin 1 of X747 and pin 15 of door frame connector X257.

You can remove the door card and pull X747 (Yellow, 2 pins) shown on page 7100-33-2 at the door lock switch.

Briefly shorting this BLU/BRN wire to 12V should Unlock all doors. If not, then as shogun says the BLU/BRN wire might be broken.

And briefly shorting the WHT/RED wire at pin 2 of X747 to 12V should Lock all doors.
