1999 Z3M coupe
Went to install new throttle cable today and noticed that the version originally installed on car is different than the new cable.
Part# 35412228506 which checks out as the correct cable per RealOEM and any retailer selling this cable.
In picture, silver ended cable with loose wire is what was installed previously. Brass/gold-ish colored cable with ~2" solid shaft end version is what is 'new'.
What gives? The new cable installs into the throttle body unit but sticks out all weird and stuff. The solid shaft portion also bends easily. By design? How does this work?

Your old one looks more like part number 35411163164, the one you have received appears to be the same type fitted to the Euro S50

Thank you UK MCOUPE. Yep, the part you listed looks like what what was originally on my car. It also lists as the cable for the same year M roadster (s52), and I understand the roadster and coupe are identical forward of A pillars. So why does this other design show up on RealOEM and retailers for the coupe? I'll call whoever I purchased it from and see what they say.
