Haha splitter looks kinda crazy in the pictures, much more subtle in person though, I promise!

Thanks danieljames, there are a ton of pictures of it in this thread, but I'll get a couple videos up in a minute that show it

The angle.. the wind... uh yi yi DAD! Haha, the couple of times I took it out for a quick rip up and down the road, he captured it on camera. I'm very please with how the front end looks with this stance/wheel setup. Again, the exhaust is getting the cats put back in and tips will be installed the same time. Currently without the tips in there it looks kinda wonky, and sounds even . . . wonkier.

At the end of the video when I pull back in to the garage, there is screetching/grinding and I'm positive it's the passenger-side parking brake being all old and rusted/corroded.

Haha yeah I can't get enough of driving it again! With these wheels I feel every bump in the road, and I love it! =D Been driving very non-driver-oriented cars for the past two years. I know the E38 is supposed to be luxury, and it IS, but feeling the road through the wheel is what I missed most.

Oh and the sound. . . . hahah

    Thanks guys

Yeah, it's very much a BMW thing to feel the road through the wheels. I thought there was something wrong with my 540it for the longest time since I could feel every bump in the road despite only having 18" wheels, but I later learned that most oldschool BMW's are like that.

Reverse lights on diffuser hooked up!

LED reverse lights both in housing and on diffuser. They trip codes and since my car's computer hates being spoken too and I've given UP on trying to program, I ended up using a capacitor and resistor to trick the computer and that also removes the strobing.

    Next up, diffuser brake light.

Care to share the specs on the capacitor and resistor setup you used?

Heya, internet's been down all day! Uh yi yi

As for the led setups, they are different for each bulb type, and more so - currently just testing different values. Once I get them dialed in, I'll post here for sure!

Here's a shot showing them all on, soo purdy:

    740.jpg

I've been saving every image as I've worked on this, 001.jpg 250.jpg etc... that last one, 740.jpg ! Hah

    - - - Updated - - -

BTW that's only one red stripe at the bottom, there are two reflections - and it's only on because the brake is depressed to show it. The reverse lights of course only come on when in reverse.

After getting the car back from paint I've gone on an ordering spree! Just dropped $100usd on superbrightleds, bought a new HVAC control unit, new wheel well inserts, and it keeps going. Here's my latest receipt:

    741.jpg

Also, the front lip was very secure BUT I've always hated - as I'm sure we all have - how it bulges out the sides, and with my "lip" underneath the lip, I was worried wind might try to pull down on it more than it needs, SO:

    743.jpg

    742.jpg

I ordered those fancy BMW MOTORSPORT license plate frames, and they each came with 4 screw sockets and caps, and using only two on each plate - figured why not! So, love it or hate it, it works.

Oh shush! I think it looks kinda cool haha.

    . . . unique!

SO get this, fixing my b-pillar top trim clip, I realized MY car at least has a different clip that was part of the ceiling!

The one that broke (seems to have broken for a lot of people over the years) is a completely different part than the one I bought!

    744.jpg

    745.jpg

So the wide part was glued to the headliner and broke half way down. The smaller "cleaner" part is the new one which has the two pins. Only ONE hole in my b-pillar, so I wonder when this changed.

Finally got the exhaust done! Cats put in, and still crackle and pop (Magnaflow Catalytic Cat Converter 94105 2.25" 2 1/4") and tips mounted up perfectly to the diffuser!

Headed home and it was a balmy -2°c then at home it was -12°c and a blizzard, my car is FILTHY!!

Too cold and tired, but snapped this picture before coming inside:

Whoa been over a month since i've updated! A MONTH she sat there trying not to rust with all of that salt.

    TODAY, that changed.

    Put a new battery in:
    751.jpg

Put new door seals in, you can see the Chinese ones I bought on the right versus the OEM ones on the left: (needed new ones after I ripped the old ones off to paint)
    750.jpg

And brought'r outside to wash up a bit! Pardon the horrible images, my fingers were REAL cold and the wind was ridiculous:

The brake light on the diffuser. . .
    753.jpg

And back to sleep for now:

I, um, need your car. Also those wheels are surprisingly hot - they've always looked bad on the E65/E66

Wow, thanks a lot guys! I've had mixed reviews on the wheels, personally I love them! REALLY adds modernity to the car imo. The ride height works well with them also.

FWIW Interior is still in pieces! =D

Just love that paint mate, perfect choice of colour... Beautiful. I will be straight up with you and say the wheels do nothing for me haha, but that's ok, we all like different things And that's half the fun of these cars, customising it how YOU want. At first the rear diffuser wasn't my cup of tea but it's really grown on me. If you did that on a purely stock ride, it would look off, but your car with these wheels and stance and new paint all combines into something pretty special. You'd be feeling pretty baller driving that thing around town, and that NOTE 👌 Spot on, love the way the M60's roar. Your dad seemed to get a laugh out of it haha. Amazing how far you've come, don't ever give up
