    INPA/ista connection

I have both OBD EX and vlinker FS cables. I cannot get either to work on my laptop with windows 10. OBD EX worked previously.

INPA doesn’t see the cable and I suspect the same is true for ISTA.

Can anyone help me with connecting? I’m at my wits end here

Is there another forum that can help me with?

Short of being there in front of that computer, it's really challenging to get a sense of what's going on.
Can you provide a lot more detail and elaboration on it?

Are your drivers installed, COM ports you said are fine. The cable brands you mentioned are China names, so it's impossible to know what that actually means in terms of cables, etc.

Then there's a bunch of car specific settings that require configuration and more info about.

Drivers installed. Port settings are set as requested by hardware. INPA simply doesn’t find the cable. I really don’t have more info to offer…

So frustrated because this is the only way I’m going to get the codes I need. My other scanner won’t pull them.

Sigh, you're not making it easy to help you.

What car exactly are you trying to diagnose?
What is your configuration like in ediabas, ista, etc?
What does your cable look like?

More info is better than none. Pictures, anything.

Also it looks like OBD Link EX is an ELM327.. not ideal at all. You should get a K-DCAN cable with a switch. Switch is for going between dual K line and DCAN

Correct. Both of these cables supposedly switch automatically…

I’m 90% sure I’ve used it before with ISTA+ less sure about INPA (my German is no good)
