    Official Z3 OT Thread..........

    Yeah, we got rules.

    No profanity.
    Nothing sexual.
    No political discussion. None.
No handgun pictures out of respect to an international community.
    No religious discussion. None.
    No racial discussion. None.
    No hot-topic discussion.

If you disagree with these selections, I'm sorry but it's not open to discussion. The list might be appended, who knows.

Now, here's the deal. I have to moderate this thread just like the rest of them. Don't screw up and earn a TO because OT is often though of as almost lawless. Remember where you are.

Now in spite of all that, there's plenty of interesting stuff to discuss. I guess we will just weave across a bunch of topics, IDK.

    Ok........go.

    Stuff. I got stuff.

Oh, and I went in the pool (for about one__1__minute, until I heard thunder...)!

Thanks Terry. I wasn't ready for the thread to start! From suggesting it, I feel personally responsible for the possible success or failure of this thread, that's a lot of pressure to put on a guy. As conciliation here's a gif of my namesake.

No disgusting NJ property taxes this time!

The 1820sq ft finished basement with bath, bedroom and full kitchen won me over. I have big plans for my car collection and home theater

Here's a thought. If you're in the water and lightning strikes the water. At what distance would you have to be away from the strike in order to not get electrocuted? What about salt water? For purposes of math let's just say every bolt of lightning =1.21 gigawatts.

Is this where we raise money to fix Terry's sticky full stop key?

I'm shooting with a Canon SD600 and Canon T5 right now. I actively fight spending more money on camera equipment. It would turn into another money pit very easily.

Divesting myself of a lot of unused camera gear partially paid for my RF subframe last fall. 😄

I eventually had to remind myself that I can only shoot one camera at a time, kinda like you can only wear one watch at a time (well, I guess you can wear more than one watch but it looks weird).

Which bring up the next OT... what's everybody got on their wrist?

Canon 7D and an old Rebel Xsi. Mainly amateur stuff.

Does anyone else have the problem where friends and family all ask you to take pictures for an event, for free, and then request all their pictures within days? [good] Editing from raw takes forever for hundreds and hundreds of pictures.

Rofl. This happened to me weekend before last. Went to a baptism in CA and brought my camera. I'm talking extremely amateur photographer... then they ask for the pictures? lol.. I shot in manual mode the whole time and this was after a wedding the night before with an open bar. Looking at the pictures make me laugh cause a lot of them folks had their eyes closed or I had setting incorrect and there were a lot of blurs.

As for editing? nah not for me.

Can an official offtopic thread actually be off topic?

If I post something "off topic" in the offtopic thread isn't it actually on topic?

Wait.... What if I post Z3 questions here? Are they off topic for the offtopic thread?

Here's a little thing I wrote.... but I don't know where it goes

    "How many Z's could a Z3 see if a Z3 could see Z's? "

That is a great house. I cannot believe how much house you get for your money. I just looked online for what you could buy for that price around here (Windsor, England) and there is just one property, a one-bedroom flat:

Wearing one of my oldest watches today. I bought it 10 years ago. It's a diver, a Chopard Pro One on a bracelet. Easily the smoothest winding watch that I've ever owned, what a movement. I've had it serviced once and it runs like new.

For camera equipment, I have a couple-year-old 24mp Sony NEX-7. I am fully on-board with mirrorless cameras, this is my second one. So much smaller than a DSLR, zero loss in image quality. In the house is my daughter's old 10mp Nikon DSLR. Very bulky, like a 35mm SLR. Somewhere in the house is a Nikon FM + motor drive that I purchased new in 1982. The body was $200, lol.

So I appreciate everyone's understanding of the heavily-restrictive rules. We need to go to real OT to discuss (some) hot-topic stuff, this is just fun fluff. The problem is that there is seldom a calm discussion on those topics. People end up disliking others due to differences of opinion on religion, politics, etc. I won't allow that to divide our group. Please, don't push the limit here, not even jokingly. I will need to moderate accordingly and I hate issuing time-outs. Thanks

Trust me I know. We left being outside of NYC because of how much things cost, this house would easily be 2-2.5x the cost and 3x the taxes there.

Yep, see above. What I was used to in the metro NYC area in NJ, my taxes were over 3x as high.

In the south when I was younger, when someone moved to a new house, we all got out the toilet paper (TP) and um... decorated.

Um yeah, no not around here. In the Northeast, TP was reserved for Hellnight/GateNight/Devil's Night which was Halloween Eve.

It used to be so routine that people felt as if they weren't accepted if they didn't get TP'd.

Appreciate the effort Terry. Mod'ing ain't easy and it's critical to keeping a community healthy.
