Did you find out how much balancing was required on the crank?
    Shouldn't have needed much.

I don't know exact numbers yet, but it needed "very little" balancing.

A couple more progress pics. Going to pick up a complete M60 today or tomorrow so I can pull the heads and send them off for some cleaning and performance work, as well as pull timing gears, covers, and other bits and pieces to complete the build.

Needed some balancing today. Also, I have some very exciting exterior upgrades on the way. Once I receive those parts, the car is going to the body shop to get some love. Stay tuned.

I also regret selling those. Every day that I had my black E39 528i I wished that I could find some for a reasonable price.

Are the steering links the last bit of your suspension overhaul (for now)? They were for me, and man you are gonna love the feeling of a perfectly straight-tracking E34 at high speeds (even with net zero toe, like I have). The tiny bit of on-center "play" starts to make sense in the context of "autobahn" cruising.

You pretty much have the same control arm set-up as me, but probably a much newer steering box; I'm excited to hear how well you think it drives with all new steering-related suspension parts. It's still no rack & pinion, like my E36 M3 w/ all new suspension and a 330i rack swap, but it's a world of difference compared to a worn out E34. The first time the P.O. drove mine with the refreshed and upgraded suspension, he pitched it far too early and hard into a turn, expecting the old, vague boat

I still have to install the rear subframe bushings, which will hopefully be happening next month, but I know what you mean. I refreshed the suspension and steering components on my 525 and it was amazing. Handled far better than the 540, but not for much longer.

Nice, then you know! It's a seriously good feeling.

If you're doing the subframe bushes with the subframe in the car, hit me up before you start if you want my DIY hack approach, which only took me about 30min per side to push out the old rubber bushings and install poly.

Installed the new steering components as well as a new CSB and guibo, and had the car aligned shortly after. What a difference in response and quickness in steering, and so much less vibration at higher speeds. Small win and totally worth it.

Worked on this for a little while today. Just trimmed the electric fan and cleaned it up a bit.

I have not mentioned it before, but it's a Mishimoto E36 M3 radiator, nothing special.

Just shorten the lower radiator hose and get the euro passenger side radiator mount P/N 17111178412
