Can't open Glovebox

I've got a 2003 330 CI convertible with 42,000 miles........ I cannot get the glovebox open with the key, or anything else I have tried, seems like the latch may be broken. I hate to just pry the damn thing open......... any ideas??

I have a 04 330ci vert and the previous owner had the same issue and went ahead and replaced the entire glovebox, I still have the old one... If you damage your actual box but manage to fix the mechanism or feel like trying to fix the mechanism on this other one I have I'd send it to you for the price of shipping (if it fits your car) I haven't even looked into it to see how easy it would be to fix since the one currently in the car works great, so it might be simple. Just a thought but it must be somewhat of a common problem, good luck man!
