A little J-B Weld and the old one could be sold for new! Thanks for the antenna numbers. The local BMW dealer had a better picture so it on order from Germany. Now I need to order the shocks/struts for hatch. More parts more money. I just love old BMW's.

Had my Indy Mechanic repair the broken wires in the rear hatch. He ended up rewiring three of them and had to drop the back of the headliner to get to it all.
Did a nice job, three hours of shop time. Ouch, but its done. Will replace the two front tires Continental Extreme Contact and do a four wheel alignment for some Summer trips.
I replaced the rears last fall. Will have to check how many miles I got out of them. New in 2015 so very happy with the set fo sure.

Cleaned and waxed my wheels today. Not StephenVa clean but turned out pretty well. Getting ready for storage.
Wheels were powder coated Spring of 2015 and have held up well.

The wheels look perfect to me! I do mine on the roll around cart to have everything at chest height. Getting too old to squat over them at floor level.
i just did my minivan wheels on Wednesday before the drive to share the day with the extended family, but I figured no one would care to see those pics. Need to have everything clean!

adm750 Thanks for the thoughts. I'm doing really well and in remission right now, what I have is treatable but not curable yet. So still on some medicine.
Appreciate the kind words on the Touring. The M5 interior swap has stepped up the luxury feel when driving it. Started my search for a S62 swap after putting life on hold for two years.
Looking at purchasing a whole running car to get what I need then parting it out because M5 motor/trans are so hard to come by.
It gets maybe 6k miles a year because it has garage queen status now.

Glad to see your still active on the forums.

Yeah, I'm still lurking around every now and again. I enjoyed hanging out with you guys. The touring thread is the best...! Now I'm just em-effing this X5 all the time.... lol..!! That side of the forum is no where near what this place is..!

Life sure can throw you some curveballs. Been there, done that, over the last year for sure. Great news on the remission though. My thoughts with you for sure...

0W40? Maybe try some WD40 too! I worked with a cool old dude years ago. He was the shop foreman out at Coleman Powersport out here, Old man Charlie. He was always limping around, turned out, he was big into motorcycle drag racing back in the day, had a bunch of bad crashes, his knees were all blow’d up. Caught him spraying WD40 onto a rag one day, and wrapping it around his left knee, I asked him what was up with that, he swore it helped get rid of the aches and pain. So fast forward to a few years ago, my old knee injury was killing me, it was about to snow, I remembered Charlie and that can of WD40, so I tried it, lo and behold! The pain went away in 5 mins!!! So now, I call it WD41.

Checking in to see how you are fairing in this winter of discontent.

By the way...The wheels need a THIN red pin stripe...just to break up all that white!

Is that Japan Rot a very rare color?
I have never seen that before.
Wish my wagon was that color

I think there were only a few produced as every dealer ordered black or silver ones. Wagon sales were in a tail spin as the X5 sucked all the sales away.

Yes it's somewhat rare. IIRC about a dozen of each model. I've only seen one other and that was at The Vintage a few years back.
That Touring was even rarer with no sunroof 5 speed and cloth interior. I believe it was a U.S. car also. Very cool.
There are a few posted on the net but thats it.

I'm fairing well Stephen and thanks for asking. I had my monthly blood work check yesterday and numbers are looking pretty good.
I've some projects I need to start on. The e39 is in a storage facility so I do a weekly mouse check. Me 2 Mouse 0. So far so good.
The touring only needs the passenger seat twist issue fixed and its good to go.
I do have a line on a donor M5 so any luck I'll get that within the month. I would get the M5 and likely have Trevor do the swap next winter.
I don't want to tie it up all Summer doing the swap.
Otherwise life is good hope the same for you.

I need to get in the garage and start all my 73 2002 projects. I bought a bunch of good stuff for it.

Wow! Nice old vintage Recaro seats and those Minilites, Panasport? Glad to hear that you’re doing well, man!

That 2002 could also use a Wooden Nardi steering wheel, in case you don’t already have one on it.

Thanks Snotty, Wheels are Panasports and the Recaros came from Thailand and have sat for two years while I was sick.
I want everything done by spring is the goal. Nardi wheels are beautiful for sure. I have a Renown wheel and matching shift knob that has M colors stitching but always looking.
The 02 has been and joy to drive and a great distraction while I was recovering. Would go in the garage and just do little work on it. Maybe a hour or so was all I could do at the time.
It's such a simple car it reminds me of when I was young and how much I enjoy working on them. So it's all good.

Changed the oil and gave all the leather a cleaning with some Griot's leather care. Will wash in the morning to get ready to do a four hour road trip.
Mid Ohio this week end to watch IMSA Sports Car. Always a good time.

Then next week 1400 miles round trip in the 73 2002 to Ashville NC for At The Vintage. Looking forward to both events.
Great way to start the Summer.

Ran over a possum this a.m. on way to some Vintage races. Vintage races are on hold because of heavy rain. I planned on taking the 2002 but changed my mind do to the weather.
Ruined my Simmbones lip, thats the most disappointing cause don't think I can get another one. Couple of big chunks out of the driver side front spoiler and cracked the passenger side.
Might be able to repair the front bumper but it's been repaired twice already over the years.
New bumper is $705. plus shipping. Might check the dealer to compare price with BMWCCA discount and no shipping charges.

Ripped out all the fog light mounting points

Already have a full plate working on the latest addition.

Hey It could of been a Skunk.

Hey! You got another 2002? Sucks to see your front bumper on the wagon.
