+1 rubber bands suck for daily driven street cars

Maybe it's just the crappy roads here..

Seeing as you seem to be the most familiar with this tire, if one were to run some MT ET streets in the rear on a street car (summer months) what would be your recommendation for the front?

Looking at the P305/45R18's (I have a giant wheel gap to fill and me likey sidewall) on an 11" wheel in the rear. Fronts are 10"

If you run MT et street DRAG RADIALS , then you can run whatever you want in the front

M3Mods- to answer your question as butters may have missed what your asking, the NT-01would compliment nicely on the street with a 315 MT ET Street in rear.

A drag radial will sacrifice handling and high speed stability. If those things are very important use a tire like NT01R or R888. But then you have a stiff sidewall that is not as good at cushioning the shock of launching at the strip.

Yeah I guess there is always a sacrafice..

I'll probably just go with nt01's and get another set of wheels for the drag strip. Just trying to get the best of both worlds but it doesn't seem to be possible. Kinda like a dual sport dirtbike.. It's street legal and can go off-road, but it's not great at either lol

Exactly, I live 90 miles from a drag strip, its not an easy 90 miles with the worlds worst traffic and most expensive bridges to cross. Those 90 miles take about 3 hours. I need something for the street. NT-01s seem the way to go.

Yeah I hadn't heard one bad thing about them until that piece about the harsh break-away which does scare me a little. Not enough to fully change my mind though.

    A) I would hope they will soon publish the tread width to give an idea of true sizing
    B) I wonder if this is why the RS-R were impossible to find this time last year as they were phasing them out...or if these too will be impossible to find as they just don't have a ton of stocking dealers.

Tread pattern looks pretty wild. I'm definitely curious as well

I've run the setup I mentioned. I also have run r888s and drag radial too. They all work.

Better for the street or the dragstrip? The 16 with more sidewall are better for the strip.

    Lots.
Can anyone describe the reduced handling feeling or high speed feeling produced when running DRs on the road?

Is it like a ridiculous floaty feeling that is alarming, or just not as sharp of a turn-in as would be with a similar aspect ratio non-DR?

Maybe you want to start out the way most people do. $59 HF aluminum 1.5 ton jack, a pair of 15 or 16 or 17 inch drag radials on a used set of BMW alloys, a quality 18V impact gun, rear stud conversion, spacers if needed, and a torque wrench. Change at the track. We can do this in 5 minutes.

I just picked up a set of Toyo Proxes R1R for the E30 to replace the MT drag radials. They were pretty doughy in the corners.
Need a cut ring head gasket, connecting rods, pistons, or valvetrain? PM me.
