I ALWAYS do a lot of research for this car. I just spent about an hour trying to locate this part, without success, and I really do not have many hours to hunt this down like I usually do.
Please someone supply me with the part number for the little black socket that the light bulb for the check engine light then goes into. When you take out your entire cluster, you have all those clips that snap into place, in addition to that you have those two little bulbs that hang there. I need the part number for the black sockets that bulb then slides into and then you slide the two wires onto either side of the socket and you push the black socket into the cluster.
On the left hand side you can see the black socket and bulb hanging, and on the right hand side you can see the black sock and bub hanging just below the blue connector.
Here is an upclose:

I doubt they're available as a separate item from BMW. The lamp itself is a T1-1/2 size. You might be able to find a suitable socket at places like mouser.com or digi-key.com. However the best bet is to simply get it off a parts car.

Richard could be correct about this one. However, try this part number 62-11-1-376-716 and see if it coincides with the bulb socket that you need.

My CEL is not coming on even when I start the car. This was since I bought a care 3 years ago. I saw a thread stating that a fuse might have been pulled out but didn't mentioned which fuse. Any suggestions will help.
Ressucitating this thread...
Does anyone know where to find the Socket?
As already answered, best bet is to salvage from an old harness. You can probably get them from any BMW of that era.

I bought the socket from Pelican. Part Number: 61-13-1-369-447 It is currently available and I bought from there because I wanted to order their project book too.
