Im getting ready to change my mechatronic sleeve and adapter. My 2006 750li is in transmission fail safe mode the car goes into Park as soon as i switch it to Drive Reverse or Neutral. Im not going to be able to take it to the shop because i cant afford it so i am having a mechanic do the job. I have read a couple of threads and they say replacing the seal and adapter should fix the problem. This problem gives the car low pressure and puts it into fail safe mode. Is there anything else i need to order or replace when doing this job. Anything else i need to know reprogram etc. Thank you everyone to whom takes the time to reply in advance.
Change the pan/filter while you are at it (ebay for $70). You will need 4 quarts of transmission fluid if you do not want to capture and reuse what falls out when you remove the pan.
Go to the California Transmission Supply Company's website and look for a how-to on removing the mechatronix to replace the adapter. For the job, get a small yard one-hand sprayer at Home Depot and about 4-feet of 1/2 inch clear hose that will allow you to add the fluid into the tranny very easily. Also get something that can clamp the hose to stop the flow. You will need 4 jack supports to keep the car raised, and a couple of jacks will make the job go faster too.
Thank You for your advice time and help. it is greatly appreciated
Were you getting the P2,3,5 gear message? Also did this fix the issue

You also need to drop the valve body and replace the rubber pressure seals, 4 rubber tubes and 1 double d seal.
The double square seal is 24347571211 qty 1, the tube seals are 24107519314 qty 2, 24107519315 qty 1, 24107520715 qty 1. The sleeve for the electrical plug is 24347588725. If you look at the valve body screws, there a lot of them, then you realize not all are exactly the same, so the there is a lot of one type of bolt and less of the other type. The less bolts are the one that hold the valve body to the case. The other bolts hold the halfs of the valve body together, you don't want to touch those. There both torx bolts. Generally the seals are replaced because of the classic slow rolling stop shifting behavior . When acellerating away from the rolling stop, the trans hesitates, then bam the gears engage with a bit of a jolt. There will be no faults for this, though I had on customer loose 1st gear and set a fault for that, but 90% of the time it's the complaint for the hesitation and hit. If the trans has gear monitoring faults, replacing the seals should not help. Personally I have not done this job but I have watched techs do it. The after it's all done the transmission adaptations need to be reset so the trans can relearn the shift points. Of course you have to fill the trans fluid and the trans can not go above a certain temperature or fluid I should say. I hope this helps
Thank you for posting the part numbers, I am about to embark on this job and had a tough time finding which sleeve I needed two of, until I saw this thread.
