    It’s going to be a daily. I’m not Swapping this one. Baby #2 is on the way and I can’t fit a second car seat in the back of the M3 that I daily now. The plans were to part out the primal swapped 540, so all of the little upgrades it has will go on this car. The actual drivetrain will be going into the Mustang.

    Ah, roger that. Makes sense to pickup a larger car (congrats on the new little one!) that is just a dependable "stock" unit... Good luck getting the new one dialed in and parting out the old one!

    What made you go with the Lokar rod shifter over a cable unit?
    Back into a BMW, this time a track rat....and it won't be BMW powered and no, not a V8 either!
    Couldn't help myself, boosted e36 m52 street car in progress also!

    Sorry for the delayed response.

    It was more for the aesthetics. I wanted something clean and simple. Didn’t have much luck finding anything that fit that bill with a cable.

    Sorry, should have been more specific. Lokar makes the same shifter in both a cable and linkage design. Why did you choose the linkage over cable?

    I may have missed it, but I thought the cable design was only for the shifter that mounts to the tail housing of the trans. It’s entirely possible that I overlooked something here too. Probably would have gone with the cable style had I found it.
