    m30b35 into an e23 - Need Help

So I already bought the Left and Right Koala engine mount adapters, but when mounted the engine still looks crooked. The passenger side adapter worked perfectly, but once you try to mount the drivers side, things get weird. Since this is an e23, do I need to order the driver side engine support bracket?

Here's the 2 Koala adapters I bought so far... (I borrowed the picture below for the Interwebz... I do not have the other engine support bracket in the picture)

    Here's how crooked it sits...

Here's a pic of the driver side Koala adapter....

Here's a picture of trying to use the existing e23 b34 engine support...

e28 535i driver side engine support bracket #3. Is this what I need (11811175591)?

Some guy on Bimmerforum did a B35 swap, all I recall is he said one of the bolts holes was not there so he had to use one less. I will try to find the thread. No clue what side, been years since I looked into it.

Goms187 or something seems to be his handle from what I recall.

    This thread? It says Goms used an early b35 but I am using a b35 from a 1992 e34 (I'm assuming that's a late b35).

i'd post it up on mye28.com. Nebraska_e28, whose name is LJ, is a wealth of info on e23's. i think he currently owns 4.

keep us posted! i've enjoyed watching your car's evolution.

I agree it looks more than a bit cock-eyed. Check realoem & ensure the e23 specs the same mounts as the e28. On the other hand, is it possible one of the mounts is bolted to the wrong mounting bosses? This would definitely shift it aft one way or the other significantly.

To install an e34 b35, you will need to buy the left and right Koala adapters and the driver side e28 engine mount arm.

Glad this got sorted. Checked in woth a buddy who e32 b35 swapped his 85 e24 and he was having issues with the same excessive engine slant. Just got a response from him and its same fix as you got!
