    From Day One

Is there anyone on the E34 forums who is the original owner of their E34?

My grandparents still have their gray 1989 525iA in El Paso. My dad has fond memories of it when it was new back in 1989. Only had 69k on it a couple years ago.

That is great, do you have any pictures of your Dad's car (even if its just very average looking, I really don't care). Too bad hes not on the forum though, I just wanted to have a little E34 story time.

    --- EDIT ---

Sorry I misread, I see its your grandparents car not your Dad's.

I remember a thread like this from a long, long time ago and a couple members chipped in that they were original owners. It would be cool to find out there are still some original owners around.

Go ahead and bite. Plenty for everyone.

I bought mine from the first owner about a year ago. That's a looooong time to have anything let alone a car.

I'm the third owner of mine, guy before me had it for 7 years.

I know its unlikely. The person has to be the first owner of a car from 1988 to 1995, and has to be able to use the computer/internet, and has to be a member on bimmerforums and finally has to see this thread and feel like posting.
But if it happens it would be nice to hear a little about his/her experience and the car.

Second owner here from 120,000 miles, now at 320,350. Still runs strong. Even in Chicago winters and lots of winter driving.

I've no proof, but I strongly believe I'm the second or third owner of my pos. I think the PO had it for a long time while the kids were growing up, then when it got sideswiped, they kind of gave up.

I'm not less than the 6th owner of my e34, and it's in better shape than most one owner cars. :-)

Cool I think that counts for sure. Ask the OG owner for some story time.

I am the third owner of my M52 car and 4th for the M Sport. First owners of both cars had them for 8+ years. The 2nd owner of the M Sport had it for 6 months and decided he didn't like it I guess.

My father leased my car (Model year 1995, production year 1994 BMW 525i Oxford Green Value Edition) when it was new in 1994. It was the first expensive car he ever had. When the lease was up, he bought it. When I was in High School, he taught me and my cousin how to drive in it and it became mine shortly after. So it's sort of first owner since it never left the family. Bonus of being the first owner is knowing everything that has ever been done to the car (I have every single record for it).

It's kind of neat because I grew up in that car. I remember being psyched when he got the trunk mounted CD changer because now we could listen to CDs in the car. I also remember thinking the seats were so high tech because none of the cars I had been in at the time were electric. I don't see myself ever getting rid of it. For every major event in my life, that car was there. Grew up in it, learned to drive in it, graduated high school in it, graduated college in it, and so forth. It's become something of a personal goal of mine to keep it till I am old and grey and then donate it to a museum. It will have had one owner till it retires from the road for good.
