So my motor blew on the 325i today. Sad day, but that means I get to swap a B30 in it, and maybe build it up with forged internals to get it turbo ready. Does anyone know what all is needed to retrofit the B30 into a 325i, or what steps I should take?
Not much needed..you can run your OEM transmission but zf transmission is recommended for the 3.0 power rating..you might have to switch your oil pan and pickup tube depending where you sourced your 3.0 block..ecu must be flashed..it’s a good idea to take a look at the ecu pinout diagrams to locate any possible differences in the wiring harness. I believe I noticed a few pins that aren’t utilized by b25 but may be used for b30..you will need b30 maf, intake, injector and throttle body…also if your using pencil coils you need to do some splicing or modifying a certain map
