Mirrorless Help

My wife wants a new camera and I figured I would put her in a pretty basic mirrors camera over a standard point and shoot. That way I can use it too ha ha.

The two I am looking at are:

Nikon 1 J4
Sony a5000

Right now I am leaning towards the Sony, but wanted to get your opinions as I am not too well versed in the mirrorless line of cameras. Any insight is much appreciated.

I got my girlfriend a sony a6000 body with a sigma 19mm f2.8 . Takes getting used to the controls coming from a canon 70d but its an awesome camera for how small and light. Easy to use for beginners but also great for serious work.

I wound up just getting the a6000. She is not going to use it anywhere near its potential but hopefully she will share.
