Thats not bad. I was thinking it would be a lot more then 450USD. I do have a ramp made out of concrete on the far end of my driveway, to do my own work. No garage. But we been having terrible weather here on east-coast. Its buried under 10inch of snow with temps on the teens
So, i figure get the oil done at the dealership for now.

Thats a good idea! may have to look into that.
I like to do a lot of my own work, because nobody takes better care then urself. But when it comes to more detailed services i like to have it done by a tech.
When it comes to tires. What i usually do is go to this site:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...853A649.dtd408
Print out the tires that i want and take it to "town Fair tire". They will match the prices and give you extra discount :
But i never take the car there, just the rims with the older tires :

Finally got a day off today from work and decided to jack the ///M up to take a look at a little leak its been leaving on my drive way floor and it been making me
At first i though it was the oil drain plug that the previous owner must of stripped. But after jacking it up, i think its a bit more serious. It looks like its coming from behind the crank pulley "see pix" I think its been leaking for a while, cuz its making a mess on my oil pan and steering rack.
It could be that i need a new crank shaft seal?
- - - Updated - - -
I noticed that i was missing the "engine splash shield" too

Went to the dealership for oil change and for them to check that oil leak. The tech found that it was indeed the "blind plug" on the side of the cylinder head. Right next to the oil filter housing.

Good to see that they had the airbag on-hand, I am still waiting for my local dealership to get one in. Also if you develop a leak around the #6, there is a constant pressure valve that will start to leak.

Yes!
When i was googling around for information on this leak, i found that there is another leak possible behind the passenger seat. I will keep both eyes on it. For now i think I'm good.
They told me i had both rear springs broken. I didn't noticed any weird noises, because the convertible always makes more noise then a coupé. But now that they changed them, it feels solid.
Total cost 891USD's
One of the issues that was passed on from the E-36's were the problematic rear springs. Dirt and gunk gets back in there and starts to rust them out, very hard to keep clean.

Got my "inspection 2" done.

Now my car has the "EML" light on. And it will not go above 25MPH. Left at the dealership to have it fixed. They said it was the "actuator" that tested bad.

Well, as of today the "EML" popped" up again. and then the "check Engine" light came on. Now the car is running ruff...OH BOY!
There is always a 1 year unlimited mile warranty on all work/parts completed at the dealership. Take the car back and ask them to check their work.

Time for you to get a scanner or INPA and start reading the codes and do the stuff yourself, at dealer prices you are spending a small fortune every time!!

YES!
i did just that. I spoke with the BMW service manager because my car stood there for a week on their service lot with the doors unlocked. And the three times i been there for repairs or service i spend 5K on it already. He try to give me the bullcrap that its a "M" and its a high performance car. And its very hard to work on it...blah blah
He told me that they are going to check free of charge.
So of today. The car is still there on the dealership free of charge. So they tool me Let see what happens...

Like noted above, it is a good idea to get INPA and DIS to check the car yourself as well. This can give you ammo to run in there if they try to B.S. you.

That "shaft sensor" might be the TPS, (Throtle Position Sensor) which could have been the culprit in the first place and your actuator was good..and the fact that they didn't charge you for it... You'll never know unless you put the old actuator back...oh well. good thing you got it back soon.
