Hey toolman, I'm trying to find your email in your information but it will not take me to the page. I'm interested in your supercharger setup. Would like to put it in my E30

@toolman2, have you tried fitting on E38 yet? I am really interested in conservative boost (like around 5-8 lbs of boost) for reliability.

DeafM5 I haven't personally but a few others have. The only obstacle is getting around the right side cabin filter.

PROJECT UPDATE; I've joined the twin disc club after my phase 2 M5 clutch passed away. 20180802_163347.jpg20180725_093758.jpg
UUC has a very nice kit, a bit more pedal effort and you get the trans rattle but ohh how it holds...

    holy shit toolman lives
i guess that was his two posts for the year, back to hibernation
Looking for an e39 Touring black carpet set, including the rear cargo cubbies and side sections!
ALSO looking for 540i 6speed manual transmission sets (2001+ pedals with switches, driveshaft, gearbox), for the 6speed swap! Probably not for a while....

Ha HA, Ya I'll see if can get on here more this year...Sooo at 13# boost and the new clutch it's truly a blast to drive and fights for traction through 3rd gear. This spring the only thing to do is crank up the boost to 15 or so and see how it likes it.

Toolman is back!! Keep up with the updates! Crank up that boost! I also went the UUC twin route. Holds whatever I throw at it. Nice kit. I do get some engagement squeal here and there on aggressive starts though, but its not that big of a deal. Totally fine as a daily driving clutch.

Good Evening! I hope you are doing great and thawing out!
    I have a '97 540i m62 build date 3/97. Already have m112 sc and coolers from a Jag 4.0l.
How much is the adapter setup that you fabricate?

Philly I'm getting that same squeel every now and then... sounds like tires squeeling. wonder if this is characteristic of the twin disc ??

Frank pm'd you. This works well with the earlier engines but adds some complexity to the install as you will need to use the jag throttle body (or aftermarket)and adapt the air-idle.

Just picked up a black/black E38 740i sport and at 151,000 miles as I'm looking to do the timing chain and guides,... Supercharger time

Any chance the machined pieces are still available for this?
What would I need to provide?

    Thanks in advance!

I guess if money wasn’t important you would go with a Whipple, then you can get the correct front inlet.

Easily said, but without a cast intake intercooler system it's not feasible, But by all means give it a try.

Toolman2 are you still using the Cartech RRFPR at 13PSI?

I stopped using my rrfpr, and am now using just boost pressure to the fpr, it's smoother but still wrong, melted my precats under heavy use.

And 13 psi is not right, it's around 38 psi
E85 fueled, Eaton m112 supercharged 4.5L M62TU, TTV racing flywheel, Spec stage 2+ clutch, 88c thermostat, eibach sway bars, wavetrac 3.15 lsd, m5 steering box, Quantum 340lph fuel pump, Dinan camber plates, some powerflex bushings, Supersprint headers, M5 cats, 2001 gas pedal upgrade and many other things done. all diy by me

Sorry I was referring to 13psi of boost pressure that he said he was pushing. (I know vortech doesnt recommend use of FMU's past 10PSI)
I agree that 38psi fuel pressure sounds right at idle.
1999540im --> Were you using the BeGi/Cartech style or a Vortech style regulator? (I plan to go vortech style)
Can you give more insight as to why its "still wrong?" I imagine your going Lean now on your AFR guage? How lean? How rich were you before with your regulator on? What setting/disk size did you try?
What does your fuel line system look like now?

The DME for our car, ME 7.2, has finally been cracked. Thought people interested in Toolman's set-up would be interested in this development. See info here:

    https://github.com/zarboz/BMW-XDFs/wiki

    and Zarboz's thread here;

    https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...7.3+tuning+e39

Of course I personally do not have the skills to do anything with this information, but I would be interested in talking to anyone that does. Anyone in the Detroit Metro or on this thread willing to work on this?

    Thanks,

    Eric

I'm running a toolman setup and would love to have better control using the 7.2 but it doesn't seem to be able to support boost.

    Hi Kenny,

See post #11 of Zarboz's thread. Based on this, I believe the DME will support boost. Again, I'm a complete noob when it comes to ECU programming, only pointing people to pertinent information I'm finding.

Are you currently running stock ecu with jag injectors + FPR? How does it run and have you dyno'd it?

    Sorry in advance. But.

That is a GROSS overstatement and oversimplification.

The E46 M3 DME has 100x more info available in the public domain and even that is fairly challenging to leverage and tune. But maybe you can say that is “cracked” after 10yrs of Open source work on it.

    Not so ME7.2.

An accurate statement would be “Some information about a limited subset of tables in the ECU are available but it is very challenging to leverage, as plenty of information is missing, some of what is published has errors, and exact logic flow and modeling through the ECU is not publicly documented .”

With that knowledge and your new endeavor, can you tune my project?
    I'm coming up empty.

Hi kenny I have recently got my setup running and out of the garage. Its running incredibly rich at idle with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and FMU style fuel system. I wanted to ask if your running a similar tuning setup and what your fuel pressure is at and so on.
I currently have my regulator as low as it will go at 30psi idle pressure and still idle at 10.6-11.5 AFR.
Trying to get a check list going for causes...

    Hi Scotrod
I've not been using the adjustable regulator, i used the jag regulator and the tuner did some corrections to the fueling. i'm idling and cruising at 14.7 with the standard bmw fuel pump.

How can I order an adapter plate off of you? What’s the cost and how long would it take to receive? Is there any way I can contact you
