@7thrty2 you for sure mentioned the first and only thing I thought of first when I seen the car as crazy as that sounds. The idea of the front air bumper is cool but I’ll def be pulling it off for a factory one and you can get dibs if your interested !
@gixxerboy what area you be in ??? I gotta see this
@HitMan it SEEMS to me look like factory color. I can remember what the code said but I’ll take a picture tomorrow. The VIn is WBAFJ910X08484686 and trust me, I noticed things was a TAD un organized and figured it won’t even half way run unless it gets sorted out. I went and bought some ground cables and new terminals...but then started celebrating 4 of July early and yea. But I’m going to actually pop the hood again in the AM and see what’s really going on
@kojo96 what kills me about that is this.. the previous owner got the car and started wrenching anstarted wrenching and worked his way around what he thought the issues was. After buying ecu he actually got into give sign of life by cranking but not actually running. INSTEAD of continuing his quest on getting it running...this MF managed to find another one semi locally clean and running. So since I went and looked at it once and got cold feet, he kicked it to me for $1,600.
Holy shit, that MFer is a factory red 745. ZINNOBERROT
My black one is a 10/84 and the VIN is super close...about 150 different!
LSD too. S225 I think was something like Bilstein HDs instead of Comfort, sorta kinda. It still kept SLS out back. S365 is that skinny glass out back. S440 = Executive. Nice score dude.

I honestly felt like out of the few I did see for sale and missed out on, this was def my favorite specially because of the color. Nothing beats red paint on some gold BBS. But I was stoked about the LSD until the seller old me he took off the diff AND the rear shocks to put on his other 745 he had found. I think he gave me a 2:93 out of his. Was curious about what the factory suspension is EXACTLY. I have some suspension I been sitting on since when forever I bought from a dude named Daniel I think he has a bagged L7. Prefer to find a diff out of a ES 3 series (so I been told) and new factory OG suspension.
i had a question about 2 different wires under the hood but I gotta take better pictures of them to post.
Ah well, sucks on the LSD. Medium case bolt up easily, you will need an E23 cover regardless of case size. 735i US spec all had a 3.46:1, which is a good increase in pep for a stock car.
I have a 3.91:1 now and it is too much gear with my current setup, it was great with a stock torque converter and stock turbo.

James, sent you a PM
im not getting any power to the fuel pump underneath car. few fuses aren't working underneath hood but not blown.
other than that I got power to the car and its sounding strong. can anyone help me ?
- - - Updated - - -
@HITMAN I was trying to throw the diff back on today after I maid the best attempt possible to get the car to crank. (wich I almost am)
can't find relay info on the REALOEM
Check your pm & hit me up. Will stop by & give some advice over a brew or 2.
just texted you on a (714) number
Try jumping power to the fuel pump fuse, from a switched fuse- It's probably the fuel pump relay or the connections in the plastic housing, just going through this on an e28 I just picked up..
I wrenched a tad more while I was writing last night.
@GIXXER tipped me off on that late last night and I tried exactly what he was texting me (wich is what you said) and I got the pump to come on my jumping the pins. I’m going to ASSUME at the point that the relay that was on the connector is bad and I PROBABLY mixed around the other relays testing the fuse box and what not.
Im not trying to find all the relays part numbers and go to the dealer and just buy ALL the relays I need and place them in the correct locations.
The current state at this point of the infamous red 745i is that the fuel pump is clicking on when turning the key. When jumped, I can hear the fuel pouring in the engine Bay Area. It’s ALMOST as if the car just doesn’t have any gas
Given previous intel on the car, highly advise inspecting condition of gas being supplied to the motor.
The PO pulled the tank off and cleaned it. When I or the car, it was barely dropped in wit the fuel pump still pulled off. Dank was empty and clean when I got it. I’m hoping the P.O. didn’t fail to mention something but he seemed honest to me. ECU doesn’t seem to give any noticeable changes in the cranking as well

Yea, I need to see what that’s looking like right there. I JUST landed on a red eye last night from Georgia. Had to go to grandpa funeral. Veterans with 30 years service and badges and pins galore. Now that I’m back, the first thing I’m doing is goin to the dealership and get all new relays!!! I need my 745 running THIS WEEK!!
Did i I fail to mention, the car has a sticker on the door from a oil change in 2006...BUT dmv told me the car isn’t in the system anymore (hasn’t been registered in 7+ years) so I’ll be putting BRAND NEW registration on the car for the LOW LOW of $110
Sorry to hear about your Gramps.
Keep us posted as you go..
Appreciate that man.
HEADS UP TO ANYONE READING THIS: the seller I got my 745 from is now selling is. He prepping it right now to list it on BAT. He wants 8k for it but he’s expecting to sell for 10.
its navy blue with navy blue interior. Condition is about 9/10. Sitting on style 5s. If anyone has Instagram his IG: is jm_e30motorsports
$8-10k is pretty sporty price, better have everything working and fully documented. If so, it should easily hit that.
But enough about that guy, we need more shots of your sled.

When your enemy is making a mistake, do not interrupt him.
I personally went to the DMV and was told this. It’s no different than the last 745 I bought (this thread) I dealt with almost the same situation. If the last owner was in CA, I can’t imagine this being a issue at all. If anything I’ll do what I had to last time wich is doing a inspection and verify vin number through DMV. And living in SoCal..I finesse everything with resources. Legally smogging my 745 was def NOT on my to-do list.
If anyone can share a picture of the relays underneath their hood, that would be helpful or link.me to a solid page. Going to the dealer today to get a few. Im going to make a solid video also today of how far I’ve gottenand some detailed shots of what I’m dealing with
