Think I'm getting like that. One in the paint shop, one on blocks I thought I was using as a parts car but the more I dig in I realize it's better than the one in the paint shop, and an e24 that I can't seem to get to. Must be the name Ed or names that start with E; as in Eric. .

@732 believe or not, I just randomly decided to look on CL here in SoCal while I was working on the red one and RANDOMLY seen it FRESHLY posted for the LOW. I seen it once before (even more ironically) when I picked up my first gold 74 in sun valley. Weird afffff. There was no way I wasn’t gonna buy it!

UPDATE. The second 745 I bought in anon running condition is NOW RUNNING and sounding pretty solid. Does need a overhaul of course but it’s def in motion. Basically the car had fuel coming in and I swapped a working ecu (spare) out of the red 745 I bought just to be positive there was spark. Wasn’t turning over at first then I just sprayed some carb clean and BOOM. A nice back fire and we got life... My idea is the spark plugs/injectors were not all the way ready to breathe life again.
Stillweoling on the red one as we speak, soon hope to get it turned over and running soon as well

Spoke to Ed yesterday.
Sounds like the Red was able to run off the cold start injector, which is a good thing...means fuel to the rail and spark. I told him to pull the injectors and have them serviced so they are documented, RC Engineering is close to him so that is where he is going.

I haven't had any work done at RC Engineering but I have been there. They know what they are doing.

Sooo my priority is to get the red one runnin by using parts off of the actual running black 745i have. Granted it does have a issues building pressure in the radiator (assuming it needs head work or a new radiator) it is running and move-able. After throwing in fresh injectors from RC , the car is still giving me the same issues. Runs while key is turned all the way but dies soon as I pull it back. I haven’t had a chance to literally dig though the car but I have swapped parts trying to resolve this issue and coming more close to resolving it.
I have verified of these specific things working
ecu
fuel pump/fuel filter
fuel injectors
ignition switch
new grounds from battery to chassis and I believe the starter
fresh battery
and I think that’s it for now
car can be reved up when the key is turned all the way but literally just dies soon as you let go of the key..
going to look into knock box next. Anyone have any suggestions what other parts I should swap over next ?? I’ve been having issues posting pictures from my phone but I’ll log into from my MacBook later
What's the plan for the black 745 after you take parts off of if?
Literally put all the parts back on it. I’m not parting it out. Just pulligparts to test the others. If anything just replace the parts as I go. Daily the black one and build the red one

Or just buy it. 27161, it will let you know if the injectors are pulsing or not.

and come to find out..the shoe actually fits me. Folllowed the write and experienced identically the same thing..except I had a second 745i to test with.
fair to say that I OFFICIALLY got the red 745i running after swapping knock boxes around!

You know it’s coming!!!!! Been waiting to figure out what’s wrong with it before I make another video..but it’s time to share and hopefully help people trouble shoot this tricky little 45i.
also @Hitman you called it 2 weeks back after I got my injectors rebuilt and had the same issue! My nigg Hitman knows his shit. LJ also said from the jump it was electrical when we verified fuel and spark. Touche’ to you too fam.
