NBT/CIC/CCC retrofit in E39/E38/E53

I got my NBT Evo back from service with Mick. It needed the firmware updating as Evos with 2GB RAM crash when running nav on ID6 without the most recent firmware. It's working much better now, but I still have a few issues to sort out that Mick's helping with.

Using a car systems emulator with an NBT EVO in an E46. Does anyone else with this set up have issues with sat nav tracking? Primarily the input from the wheel sensors causing issues, I think the GPS reception is fine, but no service menu that I can find on the EVOs, so can't check. Also, any issues with speed volume from anyone else running this setup?

Shady - since doing this with your kit (albeit with issues) a couple of guys followed my diy and have ordered car systems adapters stateside from a dealer there - would that be any help to find out who?

I had to purchase the adapters directly from CS. Unbelievable how I still have not heard a peep from this guy, but he's completely active on other platforms.

Hi guys - I have a hw31 that on ista level 59 and now an hw7 on 51. On the hw7 the dab radio is coded exactly the same but I get only about 10% of the stations and they are broken up and horrible , in the hw31 they are spot on any idea?

Aside from the above strange question - do you need an fsc code to update maps with these emulators? I spent a good while extracting the 1b file then running the tool to get the activation code I plugged the flash drive in it updated successfully and never asked for a code?

Annoyingly just put a destination in sat nav got going and then it asked for the code! I didn't have it typical!

Hi Im having a bit of trouble getting my blutooth mic working. My car didnt come with any phone options so I bought the bmw blutooth mic, installed it in the homelink panel and I plugged my nbt harness mic wire up to what I believe is the mic header in the trunk of the car. Testing it out I can hear the call over the speakers but the caller cant hear my voice. Have I missed (additional hardware component) something? Is there something I need to do codewise in inpa or esys?

Switch the silver wire from the mic to the open slot in the 3 pin connector. Old mics use the stock configuration, but the upgraded mic uses the other ground wire position.

Hi all - so my recoded dsp did not work - the only way I could get it recoded as it was in a RR was take it to local garage with autologic - the only thing they could change is the midbasis/boardmonitor setting... didn't work... bought a Philips dsp from a system with a mid and it worked but it is setup for e39 not e53 / l322... problem I now have is autologic won't code it ncs won't work in a lr so I'm trying to find someone in the uk willing to stick it in their car and code it for me for some money obviously... any one able to help?

Failing that my plan B is to run an external amp and crossovers and bypass dsp. If I set the nbt to hifi and external amp does it output audio on all four channels or just the front like the bm54?

It can be done, but might not be completely functional without dsc, I don't know for sure though. Not sure about mounting the screen in an e31 though.

Mounting it in the dash is the least of my problem. More important if we can get it to work

Hi John - if you look on the car systems.ua website there is a version of the adapter that's universal for any car - I'm pretty certain that would work - you wouldn't get your check control and trip computer but I imagine all else should work.

Got my kit all together and getting prepared for the installation, but was wondering a couple of things; does anyone know the BMW part number for the USB/AUX unit and does it work with the NBT properly? Also, thinking about a DVD/CD changer to be integrated, has anyone tried to replace the navigation computer (in my case MKIV) with a 6 disk changer from say an E70? It's MOST BUS so it should be able to connect up, be seen and used by the NBT.

Doing the same on my E70 which is a bit easier than on my E38, but that is one thing that is nice, the DVD changer will still be used there with the NBT EVO I'm installing into it.

I, too, had ordered a full setup and everything, then paid for 3 adapters and harnesses and the guy took my money and disappeared. Claiming he was too busy to even give me ETA cuz he has so many orders. Looks like he cashed out. And I don't care if I'm speculating. Many people have came into this forum to warn us about him and just had their posts deleted. He has a bad reputation on the UK and other forums as well.

Something recently has happened that's for sure as I sent a newer NBT EVO w/Sirius headunit to him for coding and harness...he would respond frequently up until mid Feb. He has been operating BMW Planet in addition to Germaniks for many years reliably. Either way if anyone gets a response on anything please post it. Opening dispute to hopefully get some communication/resolution out of this.

Mick went quiet with me for a while after I sent back my unit to be firmware flashed. I got it back eventually, found that he responded best to a phone call. Used the number on his website.

Still having issues with the GPS tracking though. Really want to get that sorted.
