You oughta try repainting that bezel... I've found that cheap chalkboard paint out of a spray can is the best possible match with the OEM black plastic.

That was my first attempt at painting myself since I no longer have access to the shop I was using.
Since it is not great I used it in my own car for now. Bezels we do ourselves now use mate finish.

Nice!! Thanks for sharing. Does the OBC function work? Are there any functions in this unit which don't work or are not compatible with our cars?

Full iBus BMW e46 EVO ID6 kit fitted by a customer in the UK yesterday
    Came out very nice

Yes sure OBC works (Range, reset, MPG etc)
Webasto is not supported if you have it
For EVO you need a F series FM amplifier too as FM reception will be bad (Worse than NBT 1st gen)

Can you go into more detail on adapting the F series FM amp to e39s? There isn't much info out there regarding this. Mostly I've seen info about adapting the F30 amp to the E60, but even those are different than the e39. I don't have a FM antenna hooked up to my e39 sedan at all and the only thing that bothers me about that is that there's no traffic info, but in the wagon, I have the primary antenna wire hooked up to a EVO on the white connector and I get traffic and a few radio stations. Would like to have it work proper in both cars though.

It's much easier for cars with nav since the nbt head unit goes in the trunk anyways. In new cars it fits in the dash, but not ours.

Factory equipment is irrelevant, NBT can run your kitchen table.
You will need to run a lot of wires from the trunk to the front of the car, regardless if car has satnav or not.

Same principale. Same as F10 with NBT retrofit. Pins do change from car to car but same thing, FM amp is connected parallel to your existing FM amp.

Folks - You might have noticed some housecleaning has occurred in this thread. It may or may not be over, but I'd ask that we end off-topic posts while further status is determined. Thanks!

Hi guys - just thinking out loud a bit before i start this - if i have the connectors for either end of the screen connection - can i repurpose the R+G+B+ and R-B-G- wires that go from the tv unit (i believe?) to the board monitor? would save a lot of routing and uprooting things!

No, not possible. The wires in the nbt aren't as basic as that.

Just have to wait. I know it's like a week past when his website was supposed to be up but give it some time.

I was going to do Dynavin or E0n0n for the E53 but maybe I'll just save up some more and go NBT with the X as well.

I already got the Dynavin for the e39 and the X still have the OEM nav on it with bunch of dead pixels...

I'm the UK customer BMWPlanetDude was referring to in post 1855. Just a quick question, those with a retrofitted NBT Evo unit, is your speed volume working correctly?

I don't have an evo, but I noticed an oddity with the speed vol. If I have it set to max, when I go highway speeds, it will actually lower volume. If I set it to a level just under max, it works fine.

Hi guys, just finished this retrofit and am 95% of the way there in my Range Rover.

I just wondered what settings you code to the NBT if you have an oem dsp amplifier - I have just coded to stereo but it sounds terrible above 40% volume - any ideas?

    Thanks
