Message Board Icons...What do they mean?

I have done every search term I can thinks of, checked out the FAQs, even Google searched for other boards but I can't find the answer to:

Is there any place that lists what exactly the Icons means on the message boards? Some are obvious to figure out, closed envelope=not read, open=has been read by me. However someplace I see an a blue envelope, some yellow, some grey,there are some red exclamations on some post, etc...is there a list somewhere that gives examples of all the differences?

How come some messages get a thumbs up in their titles? Is showing the BMW roundel in the envelope significant or is it just a way of reenforcing that this is a BMW message board.

There is an icon legend at the bottom of the initial Forum page.

Yes I had seen that, however it's very limited...certainly doesn't cover the majority of symbols found on the BB.
