Looks great, keep up the progress!! And regarding cleaning parts -- that task takes for ever with these engines since they leak oil like it's their job, and that oil gets baked on the surface in all those crevices, bah!
Two years after full reseal, I see oil leaking...
Current: 2007 Z4 M Coupe (blue/black)
Previous: 2001 740iL Sport (black/black), 2000 528i Sport (black/tan), 1995 318is (black/black), 1991 318is (white/black)
I'm pretty sure that BMW V8s just leak all of the oil the I6s would otherwise burn...
I am trying to be super meticulous with this job. Hopefully it pays off. So much easier when you can walk all around the engine and work on it while not laying on your back or being a contortionist. Hopefully that pays off and the sealing job holds for a little while. But I'll get the thing oil undercoated again this summer, that'll help conceal any leaks...
That is the truth, but I will say mine leaks a lot less than what my E39 530i burned. Hell I had to add a quart every 750 miles on that one
I should take the family to a skitrip to Vermont, leave my car in your garage for a week, see if you can do the same on my engine!
What kind of paint did you use?
It’s silver right? Not blackish? Few years i pretty good. Might try that if this fails. Hopefully it’ll last longer than the wrinkle black I used before. And this was already in the cabinet, so that sealed the deal.

Looks good purp. Is there a little gloss to it or flat?
Flat and they are coming off for the 3rd time since refinishing them for another gasket job. First time was a reseal after purchasing, 2nd was a year and a half later when the guides were done and the 3rd is to use genuine gaskets because the elring ones are leaking on the drivers side and bothering me...

Still doing just about anything to avoid the engine swap. Car has been relegated to second tier duty. Actually not driven since last fall except for a few times around the block. But it's good to clear off the shelves by installing the parts on the car.
Replaced LF fender due to some idiot backing it into the garage (yeah me)
Excellent opportunity to swap out the stupid chrome trim for proper cosmos black trim. PO must have installed a used bumper at some point.
These things all crack and lose the eyeballs. Fun fact! New ones only $20 at FCP now. May need to pick up some spares.
Allllll right. Much better.
Still a work in progress. Fixed big PS leak with used spare hoses and reservoir I had laying around. Fixed driver side rocker cover. Still need to fix passenger side. Second time on this job. You know if they didn't put these holes in the rocker you could just get rid of the covers and install PFL door bottoms. Would look fine on a black car and the rockers are already body color unlike PFL.
Be on the road again very soon but a little more to do.
