Which MC for Massive Brake Booster Delete?

Can someone post a link to a good option for a master cylinder for use with the massive booster delete on an e30?

    thanks.

I use the 25mm 7 Series master. I like it a lot, I would not change a thing.

Are you still running stock calipers?

I am running a 22mm MC with e46 m3 front calipers and e39 rear. It has a decent amount of travel, but obviously requires way less pressure than it did when I still had the stock brakes on the car. With 22mm MC and stock brakes the pedal was too hard IMO

Ah, ah, ah. Jimmy must be built like a Silver Back gorilla with legs the size of an hipopotamus ;-) 25mm MC might be too big for most of us, or without "hardcore racing" background... ;-)

I suggest a 19/19 and, on the e30, you have to ditch the bias valve to the rear calipers to get full pressure.

19/19 comes from older turbo cars such as Porsche's 944 and 911. Check for the non-ABS cars. You need not spend a lot of money purchasing an ATE part. Plenty of knock offs available. Centric being one of them. Also, for calipers with small pistons, some 17/17 MCs are available, coming from older Audis (Audi 100?) and VW Rabbits, which had no assist...

Does it matter the year 944? Sorry to seem obtuse about this stuff; just want to try and get it right.

The 944 MC's I'm seeing are in the $125-200 range.

And any more more details on removing the bias valve? I was going to rerun the brake lines anyway.

The 944 had several MCs. So, make a search for a Turbo 944 non-ABS and make sure it is 19/19. There a re a few threads on what MCs are needed, with part #, on this forum.

The thing that stinks about eBay and most parts sites is the don't list the bore diameters. I'm still digging around for a thread of part numbers.

Porsche 914 had both 19 and 17mm masters and if memory serves me right, they had the correct bolt pattern for the Massive delete kit.

While I'm certainly not a small / frail guy, I just don't find it to have very much effort at all.
I like the brake pedal to be rock solid.
I think my perfect brake pedal would be a rock solid pedal at the height of my gas pedal that only moved 1/4" and I attenuated the brakes with varying pressure.

I wouldn't be afraid of the 25mm master.

Agree on running equal pressure everywhere.
Get rid of that e30 bias valve.

    Hey Lee,

Any plans on a black friday sale on your products?

On the topic of the bias valve, that's for the input. I am going to run fresh lines everywhere so getting rid of the bias valve should be no trouble.

I am not against getting the porsche 944 MC, but I have yet to find a definitive "use this PN". I can find non-ABS 944 turbo MC's, but I can't find any info on diameters crossed back to part numbers.

Nah... Never done such a sale. If I did, it would probably mean parts are overpriced the rest of the season. ;-) If you need anything, be aware I will be closed from Dec 7th to January 17th for a 5 week motorcycle trip in France, Spain, Morocco, Italy and Tunisia. ;-) And no internet in the middle of the Sahara.

The only vw/audi 17mm masters and 19mm masters I've seen comer from Vw Bugs and Karman Ghia's... Lack of part #'s for stock calipers and holding me down on buying

Hey Lee I'm in the process of building an E30 M3 with a S62 v8, I'm also installing the 135 Brembo calipers front and rear with your booster less setup. Let me know what MC size you recommend ........ thanks in advance

I don't think you can fit the booster delete kit there. As clearance between back of head and fiewall is less than an inch. Noneheless, if you are willing to try something else, you can fit a padal box with inboard MCs (check Tilton and Wilwood kits). Check Garagistic fortheir install kit. Also, I designed a version of the booster delete kit but with a single inboard MC especially for V8 swaps. Sadly the Tilton Mc is not cheap. ;-(

I found a super cheap MC from a 944 Turbo on eBay. I'll give that one a go and then go from there. For $25 it was worth a shot. I'll report back on what I end up finding that works for the benefit of others.

Thanks for the info Lee. I ended up with an 87 MC from a 944. Not sure if it will work, but for $20 if it doesn't then no real loss.

Not yet. It will still be a few weeks. The car is pretty taken apart right now.
