I had a really hard time deciding NOT to go with a T56 Magnum....

Thanks for the offer.
Usually I compile a list of part numbers via RealOEM.com, and then email a vendor in the US. Pricing is usually on-par with the RealOEM #s....but then I get to pay cross-boarder shipping, brokerage fees, duties, and local taxes.
Next time I'll give you a shout....
Just went through this whole thread. Holy shit man. The level of detail is insane on this. Good job man!
I got a sfi bellhousing, adapter plate, dustsheild, and FX850 w/flywheel all brand new setup for tge T56 Magnum. 2gs not 3. 😀 Drive shaft would be less. I'd find a good conditions used box for 2k or less. Shifter lines up and comes with the trans. Nothing fancy need or extra there. Cross member can be made easily. TOB is cheap if you use OEM Chevy stuffs. It's not that bad to have something built to take a beating and be serviced easily as well as upgraded. There is a cost at the door, then you can party all you want! 😉
Been looking at the Steed Speed manifold...trying to decide on a turbo still.
EFR 8374 T4 TS 0.92 A/R IWG + MVR WG would be an interesting experiment.

That would be a great option for someone looking to make a fresh start.
I'm committed to the 5 speed ZF right now.
I'd be looking at those gen2 GTX35's. Either one looks great. If I yank my 6466, its for a gtx3584rs gen2.

Nope. Still waiting. QuickTime said it should ship this Thursday.

Bellhousing $810
Clutch and flywheel is $1,300
T56 Magnum is $3,000
Driveshaft is about $400
And yeah your clutch pedal setup is going to be the same price since you are converting to manual anyway.
The RS doesn't have a twin scroll option available yet....and we're not clear on if a single WG will run "Street" boost levels. (For me that's 10psi or less)
I do have a means of controlling torque output regardless of boost, but I'd rather not resort to that trickery.
Leave the ice fisherman alone....he's got rust issues.
Those are the costs you chose, not the costs I would incur.
Add shipping, a border crossing, and Canadian taxes, and it gets more interesting...
If I need more transmission than a ZF 5 speed, it's very likely to go drag racing...and I'd want something like a TH400 to do that. If I do get to that point, I would be able to sell a 5 ZF combo w/CAE shifter a lot easier than a T56 Magnum conversion. Ironically, I've ordered an extra set of friction discs for the FX-850 clutch in anticipation of drag racing wear and tear. I like to have wear-items ready on the shelf...
I didn't know you lived in Canada. Yeah that sounds like a pain.

The ZF 5-speed is way lighter than the T56. The ZF 5-speed is way lighter than the 420G as well. You can go through a hole bunch of the ZF boxes before getting close to the price of a conversion.
