    And another update

The e46 is know to have issue with the floors cracking or ripping out so it's best to add some reinforcements. We went with the plates from redish Motorsports out of the UK. These are nothing short of amazing. REALLY well designed.

Start by cleaning all the undercoating off.

    The plates

    weld/bend/weld

Smooth out and put etching bare metal prep on them.

    POR and seem sealer

    Then undercoating

Rear subframe also got new poly bushings

    subframe back in

Yeah man, you are so close. This car should be here for another few weeks before it is done and goes back to the owner on the east coast.

How's everything going with the CAN integration on this build? Have you been able to use the info from Thaniel's thread or do you have another solution for the gauges and whatnot?

I'll have to follow this build. I have a 2002 and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I already have an E36 swapped. Do I need 2? The wiring
looks to be the most challenging. You had a real head start with suspension and brakes.

Big plug for Jake - this is my car on which Jake is doing the build. It's been great to see this come into shape, it has been fantastic working with him as we have spent a lot of time working through the different choices, from crate engine to transmission to subframe reinforcement to shifter choices and beyond. I highly recommend him if any of you are considering doing this swap and aren't planning on working on it yourself.

man this is awesome! Ive been wanting to swap an LS into my E46 for a few years now.

How will the LSD hold up to that much power?

Definitely let us know how the CAN adapter works.

Can you post up some good pictures of the engine bay from the bottom and top with the radiator and front clip back on?

I just want to get a good idea of how far back everything sits and how much space there is to run the intake down

    Should keep updating...

The AC compressor that is made to fit this engine didn't have ports that would exit in the right spot. The trailblazer SS compressor has them on top and there is an available adapter to fit on it. But the issue is that the bracket made for the compressor doesn't match the belt spacing for the engine. So after looking around at other options the best option was to just make a bracket.

Welded AC on fittings to the E46 lines to work on the Trailblazer compressor.

    AC lines in place

Tieing the headers into the super sprint exhaust system.

Took a while to find a oil cooler adapter that would fit. After trying a couple different ones with thermostats in them the only thing that would fit was the stock adapter from a truck.

Heater valve was a BIT close to the headers and not much room to run any lines so we moved it up some.

Had the wheel color changed a bit.

    Outside for the first time.

    Looks great Jake!

Where are you sourcing the A/C outlet adapter?

Car is shipping out to the customer tomorrow. I have some in car video I need to upload but it is really hard to capture the power of this thing without being in it.

Weighed it today and it came back at around 3400lbs and has 525hp with 469ft tq. It's pretty insane to drive.

Still some lights on in this pic but if you look close you can see the tach is working as well as the temp gauge. I had Thaniel over on bimmerforums make me a can bus adapter. I cannot say how great it was to work with him. He made many adjustments to the program and it works great.

Along with the canbus adapter being used for the gauges it is also helping make the racelogic traction control work. This runs off the canbus and is fed tach from the canbus adapter and wheel speed sensor signals from the e46 can bus.

Made some adjustments to the shifter rod to get it in the center of the console

    outside...
