    License Plate Screws?

    Hi. I recently purchased 2001 330i.
I wanted to put a license plate cover, but I noticed it uses very short screws. I tried to use bolts from Pep boys, but they are way too long.
I really want to get rid of the dealer license plate cover.
Where can I get a proper license plate cover screws? Anybody know the size?

Best thing to do is take the OEM screws with you to the hardware store, and find ones just slightly longer. I don't recall the size, but I had to do the same thing...

Thanks. By the way, anybody purchased a clean looking license plate that provided right screws for E46?

BMW has both plain & logo license frames, stainless steel, in black, gold, or chrome. About $30, but they are hell for stout.

Maybe a bit late, but the screws (bolts actually) are M5x9mm. You can get 5mm x 10mm long bolts at a hardware store. It's possible that the factory bolts are rust proofed, so the ones you get from the hardware store might rust faster, so you might need to keep an eye on them and replace them if they start rusting.
