Hell yea! I'll spend this weekend timing the engine with the m3 cams/vanos and then install the turbo. At the end of the month I'll buy all the coolant overhaul parts and get the oil bung and IC piping welded. First startup, should be at the beginning of March at the latest.

Following this build. I'm collecting parts for my S52 turbo. Why did you pick the 6262 turbo?

I picked up a t4 spa off of ebay for $250 which is pretty cheap. However, the variety of turbo options is very limited when compared to the t3 spa manifold. But some people have already tried the 6262 and 6466 on the t4 including highboostingm3 who has helped me alot up to this point. Plus if I ever go fully built, the 6262 is more than enough to support 500+.

Going to button up the head tonight. Anyone know the best spark plugs to use for turbo setups? I would also like to know the gaps that are used. I've been told between 0.20 and 0.25. Thanks!

I've always heard OE style copper plugs with that gap do the best.

NGK 4554's gapped to .022ish have worked well for me and many others. They're also only like $1 or $2 a piece and I change them with the oil and filter every 2k miles or so. Always nice to get frequent updates of what's going on inside your combustion chamber

Thanks for the advice. Some pics of my progress this weekend. Sometimes I wish I would've went top mount.

    M52 vs S52 cams...thanks again m3mods!!!

Need to get a new dump tube made. But this will do for first startup.

I was able to get the oil return line straight down. This setup is not the final install....

Its awesome finally seeing everything come together. First startup should be late February! Also does anyone know which o2 sensor Jordan(RK Tunes) uses? Is it bank 1(first three cylinders) or bank 2(cylinders closest to driver)?

Jordan told me he uses bank 1. Are you using a factory O2, or are you using a wide band and connecting the narrow band output to the DME? I put 2 O2 bungs in my down pipe in case the DME is finicky about the signal it wants to see. worst case I'll run two sensors, otherwise I may fit an EGT in one and wb in the other.

Your aftermarket wb02 narrow band output may not read the same as a factory titanium oxide 02. Maybe you could program it to do so but I am not sure it will match up perfectly with a tune designed around the factory input. Seems like a recipe for issues to me, but let us know how it goes.

Jordan told me it is and only bank 1 o2 sensor. I have two o2 bungs in my downpipe so I'll use one o2 sensor for the ecu and the other o2 sensor that came with the wideband. I just ripped off the oil pan today and I'll send it off to ar design for the oil return bung. Also did a complete coolant system overhaul. Getting so close!

^That's what I was thinking. Especially when running a thicker oil like 10w60 for turbo setups...

It is excessive but it takes me a few months to put 2k miles on the car so it's not really that expensive. With how much money I already have invested into the built motor & turbo, I don't mind spending a little extra on oil and filters every couple months.

Goes in clean, comes out clean. I save my "dirty" turbo e36 oil, and use it on my Dakota winter drift truck.

Got some work in over the weekend.

    Wired oil pump unt

    Ar design weld in bung

Not very confident with this drain setup. Theres a slight kink but when it is reduced there is no downward slope going to the bung. Need to figure something out.

    Fabbing FMIC piping

As of now, I just need to get the fmic piping welded, install the intake mani with my ptuning vacuum block for all vacuum lines, and download tune. First startup is near!

Def pulling the wrong way, also needs to twist in between nut and anchor.
