Figured I'd throw a thread up of my car, since I'll be using the forum more often for retrofits etc etc.
I'll try and keep it short, I'll link to my full build on StanceWorks - http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...=40141&page=20
I picked it up last January with the mindset of keeping it looking subtle with some nice OEM touches. It's a 1998, 323i.
Picked up some wheels a few weeks after
Snagged all the parts I need for paint
Repaired all the rust/dents. My jacking points were toast, as well as the rear tailgate. I tried my best to repair original panels where I could, the only thing replaced was a front wing.
Wet sanded and the buffed the entire car.
Got it home and fitted new discs, pads, coilovers as well as the freshly refurbed wheels and tyres.
Thought I was low as shit.
Lowered it a bit
Fitted heated leather
Picked up Throwing Stars
Painted the covers in Titan Silver with rainbow flake. Spent 2 hours flatting and polishing each cover
Got the lips re polished
Few recent-ish pics
Repaired the boot floor
Bought another set of Throwing stars
Test fitted for next years look
aaaand that's where I'm at. I bought another Touring as a daily, so my plans for next year are to run 9's all round, wire tuck/shave and paint bay, repaint front end, new coilovers, loads of little oem retrofits and maybe retrim the interior.
If this is the wrong place, then feel free to move
I NEED a touring e36 over here now!!! I wish I could get one.
1995 M3 S52 turbo (Sold, like an idiot) -----------------------------------1998 M3/4/5 (Hopefully turbo soon, Nope sold this too)..................................E92 335i(God, I miss the E36's)
Wow!!! Great work. I would like to see it raised up just a hair but looks great regardless.
Nice. Looking forward to seeing more pics on the throwing stars.

That is some great progress. though I can't say I'm a fan of going that low with that much poke, it looks very clean and it looks like you are doing some great work so much respect nonetheless. Keep up the good work
this is why i hate BMW for not bringing the E36T to the states
looks amazing man! Cant wait to see it on 9" throwing stars! Take your time to dial your stance correctly, your fender are perfect. Keep them clean
Love what you've done with it. Digging the 32's, they belong on tourings like butter on bread! Don't get me wrong the TS's look great too but with that much poke they render the car useless for it's intended purpose...just my 2c.
Thanks guys
Cheers guys. I appreciate the height and poke isn't for everyone, which is fine, I understand that. I'm just building it the way I see it my head
I wouldn't say I've rendered it useless..I daily drove it at that height for just over a year with no issues at all, hell I even took it on a roadtrip with 3 of my friends to the top of Scotland, it still works, I just gotta drive slower haha.
I want to import one as well.
Gorgeous.
You Canadians are lucky, we have to wait 25 years. At that point I would love to build an E36 M3 touring w/ Euro S50 or S54.
Love it! Nice work
There's a few M3 Tourings over here already, very cool.
Thanks man. The clear tails were a lucky find. I was thinking of wrapping the clear bit amber, so I was amber all round.
Just sticking with the standard 2.5l. The wire tuck/shave isn't going to be crazy - Mainly hide the wires that run up the lengths of each wing, relocate the washer bottle and earths and have the towers painted.
Thanks!
The Throwing Stars are one of my favorite too, 32's being the second. I spent a lot of time getting the ones with the right offsets, I have two sets, one from an 8 sereies and one just from an E34 M5.

Thanks guys.
Cheers man.
Yeah, the fitment will be dialed in once I get tyres and camber arms.
Thanks man. I know the low stance isn't for everyone, which is cool, I appreciate that. I wouldn't say it's rendered it useless though, I still regularly do roadtrips in it with my friends..it goes fine, I just have to watch for stuff haha.
I can see a business opportunity here..
its perfect!

So awesome! That would be an awesome daily!

Thanks dudes.
Yeah, it served me well as a daily for the year and a bit I used it. This is the daily now though
The roof bars were an optional extra..so it gives you and idea of how basic it is haha. Only has electric front windows and air con, which is pretty much all I need. It's mint, no rust anywhere. I'll be taking the old coils off the silver one and swapping them out come spring as well as using the spare set of 17x8 Throwing Stars I have.
You follow up your post on one lustful touring with yet another mint touring? Going to make a lot of us in the states mighty jealous... Cars look great btw
Is that a Fiero?
