EDIT *** Style 437 M *** color difference
Stock suspension set up.
9x18 (ET29) +10x18 (ET40), Style 473M
Fitted with stock Michelin Pilot Sport 255/40/18 front & 275/40/18 rear
Too much rubber - love the look of the wheels though.
Used a 5 mm spacer up front to clear the strut spring base. So it does have a little "poke". Had slight rubbing on full lock rear inside of front tires. Not bad, acceptable. They are 255 width up front.
Issue arose while test driving , could hear only a slight rubbing on outer side of rear wheels on the fender. But I smelled burning rubber. Was going to roll the fender, then realized the real issue was the inside.
This is more of an issue due to the offset of the rear wheels. A spacer can remedy this rubbing - but then the fender becomes an obstacle.
Playing with options - May get 235/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear because the wheels look great. Still not sure if the rears would fit, may have to go to a skinnier (gasp!) rear tire.
Have not seen anyone try these wheels yet, so wanted to post my feedback.

I like the wheel but 19's and E36 don't look right

Never been a fan of anything other than 17s on e36 m3s. Those wheels look nice, but I don't like them on the e36 m3. Really nice car though

Get the hood lined up!
Haha. Hood isn't the issue, it's the whole car.
I'm surprised you could fit that much rubber with those chubby 40 aspect ratio sidewalls. I commend you for trying something many would be hesitant to attempt, but you will probably need to step down to 265/35/18 rear and 255/35/18 or 245/35/18 fronts for practical use. That's about the limit I've reached on stock (rolled/flared) fenders with the same offsets/widths you are running.

Thanks. I was surprised too. No way is this acceptable to drive around with. Took off and am back to the DS2s. Don't think the M4 wheels will work for my goals.
To keep the speedo correct the rear stock tire (245/40/17) is about 628 mm diameter , the 275/40/18 are about 677 mm. That's a BIG difference of 7.3% ! To keep it close (<3% is a rule I usually follow) a 255/35/18 would probably work best in my opinion. Then you have a 255 on a 10" wide rim , which isn't optimal.
The front, I was thinking the same as you 245/35/18. Less than 1% difference in diameter over stock.
Someone could make it work, most likely will not be me.
I'd love to have a set of all rears and run 265/35/18 all around... I really LOVE the way they look by the way!
4 fronts with 245-35-18 would fit great.

I love the wheels, on an M4.
and...
I love E36 wheels, on an E36.
To be honest, it looks OEM riced out.
Totally agree.
Ive gone back to this thread several times to see if I can get myself to like it. I just don't like 18s on an e36. They all look tacky, sorta like your crossing a new Bmw with an old one. I don't think it works.
^^ All my personal opinion though and I have always been one to say not to worry about what other people think about your car. If YOU like it, DO IT and enjoy it
Wheels are nice but too new looking for the E36. OEM + for sure!

Yes. I like the DS2 wheel on an E36. Mine are just aged / worn. Good for track use. Style 5s look so much better to me. Cleaning the DS2 takes me too long for adequate results .
I think I have wheel upgrade envy.
It looks better than those god-awful m6 wheels people were putting on e36s for years.
Style 5 takes way longer to clean than a dsii..
Also, don't be fooled. Though style 5s look great in pictures, they look silly from most angles because of the tires you have to run with them.
Better fitting set of tires and some low and I think some of these naysayer's will change their mind.
They have potential, and the gunmetal color works nice on the blue.
Not feeling it
And what would make anyone think they need that much tire? Start to looks like a DTM Mario kart...lol
No matter where you go, there you are...

Another M3 E36 got them to work. Looks great in person. Purely asthetic mod due to the rear tire size has been reduced in order to work. Can post more pictures if anyone interested.
His fitment
225/40/18 Front
225/40/18 Rear
No front spacers.
7mm Spacer in Rear only
Rear Fenders have been pulled.
