Do you mean the damper or the sprocket hub that the damper bolts onto. Technically the damper doesn't even touch the crank.

Supposedly came out of a 2001 z3 with an M54, I really didn't research it much. It was cheap and I have access to a lathe so I figure I can do something with it. The pulley stand off seem right.

Let me know what you find it takes to make it work. It would be pretty easy to make that a press fit on the crank by shrinking the hub. Would need to make something to pull it off though.

The fit is already more snug than the m52 I am going to start with a loctite cylindrical part retaining product as an easy fix. It comes apart with heat, so the rubber might get ruined, a throwaway part but they are cheap and easy to replace while that crankshaft is neither.

If that doesn't work I can bore it out enough to add a bronze bushing, super thin and retain the stock keyway.

Right now I can make either damper wobble without the Jesus bolt and that isn't snug enough. It fits the m52 crank perfectly.

Hello guys, getting a little confused reading the post. Can I use an m54b30 harmonic balancer and trigger wheel or does it not fit. Currently got m50b30 and having vibration issues aswell?

The M54 balancer does not have a trigger wheel on it for the crank position sensor to read. The trigger wheel on the m54 is mounted on the crankshaft toward the back, but an M50 does not have a provision in the block for the sensor.

What vibration issues are you having? There are aftermarket options now for balancers with trigger wheels on them.

The m54 damper worked for me because the I used the US version of the M52, the cast iron block with the internal trigger wheel. It worked out well but won't work for ozanbuyuk.

Two nice convenience factors of the m54 damper is that it takes up a little less room and you can access the fron two AC compressor bracket bolts without removing the damper .

Nice piece you got there! 😎
