It feels/sounds basically exactly how I wanted. Right on the line between aggressive street car and racecar. When I put my foot on the throttle now I get the full angry soundtrack in the cabin, and feel it a little more in the seat. Handling-wise, it's better than it ever would've been from the factory. Everything is brand new, and much of it is stiffer than stock. Steering is tight and direct, and there's no play anywhere.

If anyone else is looking at doing something like this in a slightly more toned-down manner, OEM motor/trans mounts instead of poly would probably eliminate most of the extra NVH I added. The poly bushings I put in elsewhere haven't really added any NVH except for a tiny bit of diff noise at certain speeds.

Got Ventus RS-4s mounted and balanced for AutoX this weekend. I'm excited to see how the suspension setup and >3deg of camber is!

I wanted to stay with rubber motor and trans mounts but after my last time at the track not being able to find third several times and 1 money-shift that i caught in time luckily ive decided i should go with something more solid. Whats the reason you went with two different durometers? I would think you would want them matching

Also the ZHP rack is that the best one to go with? Ive seen people mention Z3 whats the difference.

Ive done control arms/ball joints my tie rods are good and the steering sucks still...on center is terrible. Im thinking new rack and coupler would probably get me close to where i want.

Vorshlag recommends 95A for the motor and 80A for the transmission, so that's what I got. They said that anything stiffer on the transmission introduces a lot of NVH. If you want to go any stiffer, you may as well go solid/nylon. At least that was the conclusion I came to.

There's two racks that are popular, the non-M Z3 rack and the E46 330i ZHP yellow tag rack. They are both linear racks as opposed to the stock M3 progressive rack, and are both quicker as well. The Z3 rack is quicker even than the E46 ZHP rack, but is also more expensive. Both are plug and play. There's numerous threads on this, but I believe the stock M3 rack is 3.2 turns lock-to-lock, the E46 ZHP rack is 3.0 turns, and I think the Z3 rack is something like 2.7 turns. I got the ZHP rack because it was cheaper, and also because I wasn't 100% sure I wanted the twitchiest rack option.

Just did my cabin air filter and wow! what a difference on how much air it comes out of the vents.

FYI the filter is the Mann CU 2835 (Amazon has it for $15) https://amzn.to/2sdQDkv

Also this video shows you how to do it without removing the glovebox Youtube Video.

Major snowball effect this last week.

Car was making noise in the rear right side. Found my lower control arm ball joint wasted. Bought a new one at the auto parts store thinking it would be a quick fix. Bolt rusted itself in there had to grind it off. Returned the oreillys special, ordered Lemforder BJ and brand new bolts/washer/nut.

When I was back there finding the ball joint issue i noticed my RTABs were moving a lot. Time to upgrade bought the Bimmerworld spherical RTABs and to save on shipping I ordered the Silicone ASC delete intake boot I have been eyeing with it.

Decent deal popped up for a used X Brace here I went and picked that up.

Then I was thinking since I need to go get the car re-aligned anyways because of the RTABs I figured might as well get some better FCABs now. I had replaced them barely 1000 miles ago with the stock rubber bushings but I think they are the culprit of some of the odd handling issues im having on tight turns at the limit. Ordered the Condor UMHW treehouse style fcab assemblies......Since i was ordering those i figured its a good time to save on shipping and buy their motor and tranny mounts too and of course since im installing the xbrace i will do those first since you know its such a hassle to take on and off.

Rear ball joint and bolt got here last night about to slap it in everything else is coming tomorrow. Cant wait to get all this stuff in gonna be new beast. Havent driven the car in a week going through withdrawals.

It was a good week for the e36. Stoptech st40r up front, pfc08’s all around, rieger lip, ma Shaw ltw wing, MCS suspension, arc8’s and r888r’s ... mad dash to get the car ready for Sebring first week of December.

Still trying to figure out interior if anyone has an Alcantara setup available.

Awesome! I've got some exhaust and suspension work to do over winter. This will surely beat running back and forth from the front and back to set it up on jack stands. I figured if anything it'll making swapping wheels for AutoX and rotations a lot easier too.

Oh yeah, much easier than getting the car on 4 jack stands. I swapped exhausts last weekend and did a diff and tranny flush. Took 5 min to get up safely in the air and there is a ton of room to work under there!

Very jealous. Put my two sets together and I'd have a set of V3s.

    As in settings you mean?

I'm setting it up for autocross so i'll be at -3.5F/-2.5R, caster up front maxed out via offset LCAB's, 0.1 Toe In up front and 0.2 Toe in in the rear. Height will be about where I am now, just barely tucking the tire.

Yes settings. I'm dumb as hell when it comes to all of that. I just know how I want mine to look and how I want it to handle.

I almost went there myself! I was worried about ordering the wrong ones or having to drill the holes for the speakers and messing that up! Are all the plastic brackets and pockets included too?

That's super cool! New door panels are a good addition.

I picked this up last night. Not really for the car, more for the garage. I've been wanting it for a while.
