The car is back in my garage while the repairers await the chroming of the front bumper. The front bumper is also a temp fit. Walloth & Nesch are sending the rubbers for the bumper as well.

I got a call from the smash repairers saying, "hey, we will tow it to your place as it is running super rough". I get to my place to unload and it is running perfectly, the stock wup wup wup of a race engine with big cams. Called my contact at the smash repairers who laughed his head off. Seems the guy project managing the repair specialises in smooth luxury cars and had no idea that to get power from an NA car, big cams meant real rough idle.

I could have driven it home.

I'll dry it (currently raining) and post a few pics tomorrow.

A few photos of the car. RHS Kidney Grill needs some love. Front bar awaiting chrome and as such just secured, not sitting right yet. Chrome should be here in 2 weeks then July power dyno run with any luck (I'm due some!).

Back at the smash repairers to have the new chrome trim fitted to top of front bumper.

On the drive back I noticed;

1. LHS door lock nob had dropped.
2. RHS door cannot be opened from the inside.
3. Oil leak.
4. huge water leak, coolant.

So those items are being addressed now. The radiator did come out and a new oil cooler went in so hoping just hoses.

A few new bits from Waloth Nesch and the battery install. Works great. That's not rust inside just old glue from the carpets!

The car has gone off today on the back of a tow truck (I'm in lockdown due to covid) for the following;

1. New carpet.
2. New M-Tech steering wheel to replace the timber wheel.
3. Bumper trim to front spoiler.
4. Recaro Seats finally going in.
5. Power Steering leak.
6. Handbrake works but loose.
7. Drive shakedown as a few bumps and squeaks.
8. Old tacho cable still in and clicking away, needs removal.
9. Rocker Cover (well, fuel injector cover) "M Power" to go on.
10. Boot seal.
11. Both door seals.

While awaiting the tow struck took some photos in the sun.

Those are unique. To be honest I don’t know how you guys take all the lockdown lying down over there. Nice to hear you’re optimistic about going racing cause from over here it looks a bit grim. I hope you get to enjoy the car soon.

We put up with lockdown because we are not dying. Generally, we have at worst 7 or 10 deaths a day. Still, we have our share of anti-vaxers and those who disobey. We would not be in lockdown if people had obeyed the lockdowns as most cases are spread by people simply breaking the rules. Still, October 18 is our out-of-lockdown date and by then 70% of our State will be fully vaccinated. China has a lot to answer for on this one. I'm positive we will all need booster shots every year for the rest of our lives.
