Get rid of your DSP amps and buy a JBL MS-8

The JBL MS-8 is a piece of crap. If you want a DSP buy just about anything but that.

^^ As usual, your feedback is objective and useful .

The chassis must always be regarded as a means to an end and never as an end itself
My feedback is based on real world experience, something many people here altogether lack.
You can say whatever you want but if your frame of reference is just forum conjecture your opinion is worthless.

Do you run an audio shop, perhaps with your extensive experience you can make a guide, so it may be made a sticky for future E39 generations to have at their disposal.
I do not want to dirty up the thread and I am not a huge fan of DSP, but I do like the idea of a stock installation feel and the sound is great in my iT. All of my cars have subs and amplified stock or upgraded speakers accept my e64iC with DSP and it rocks for a vert.
The idea of rewiring, re-am ping my daily is not first on my thoughts, but modern look feel and BT with iPod control/input is.
I am buying as soon as the DSP integration is perfected.....and maybe I will upgrade from that point again.
Stock DSP audio and an aftermarket DSP (like the horrid JBL MS8) offering have no relation to one another besides the acronym. The stock DSP is little more than an array of bad sounding presets to chose from.

^^^^is this Chris Kohler???
But seriously, you know what the e39 DSP really is. While it does have some bad sounding presets, it was a nice advancement for its time. Good aftermarket is always better. In 2014/2015 most high end cars offer way better than 90's aftermarket unless you go big money

It performs well, offers a variety of setups and is an easy installation at a decent price. It's almost perfect for what it was designed for.

Just curious, but what does this have to do with the Dynavin unit that this thread is about?
Nothing. Thanks for keeping it going though.

Jeffb325: I have an E53 X5 with DSP/Nav. If you can guarantee that the N6 will work with my system(s) out of the box (plug n play), then you can chalk me down for one as soon as you are ready to ship.
They are in stock and ready to ship now. As far as guarantees go with the DSP go, its a little early for that. Once I see more installs get done Ill be able to have more confidence....
The problem right now is all you DSP guys are sitting on the fence, waiting for someone else to try it, so no installs are getting done.....
seems my honesty about the situation is not working in any of our favor....I guess I should have just said "I GUARANTEE IT!"
FYI, you can test if the DSP integration works in a nav car by simply plugging the unit into the trunk radio harness, before you even take anything out of the dash. So it would take only 5 minutes for you to determine if it is going to work out before you even start your install.
RR540....lets get this thing going!

I'll be your X5 guinea pig, if you can provide me with a "Super Fantastic Bimmer Forum Member Discount!"

By the way, will I need ANY other cables or hardware for it to work properly with my X5 (currently equipped with OEM DSP/Nav)? Or is everything included with the N6?
for individual sales stuff you guys need to email me.....this thread is for info and peoples experiences and an archive for future users looking for info.
