If you have a reverse camera or PDC and you put the car in reverse the volume will be lowered. Its supposed to do that. If you dont have a camera or PDC turn the reverse function off in the system settings menu.

For the nav, the volume is turned down. There are a couple places where this could happen: Go to the volume settings within the nav program, check the settings. If everything is ok there, go to the setting where you choose the "person" who's voice you hear, select one (forcing it to talk) and simultaneously turn the volume button up.

The dynavin has a discrete volume setting for the nav so that when its talking and you turn the volume knob you are turning up or down ONLY the nav volume....so its likely you inadvertently turned the volume down on the nav, and you can only turn it back up while the nav is talking.



Thats a fairly old firmware you have on there, 1.3.0 is the current version and has some changes to bluetooth. A quick google of "samsung galaxie s8+ bluetooth wont connect" brings up A LOT of similar S8 problems but mostly from 5 months ago....would hope they worked them out by now! Generally speaking though if you are having bluetooth pairing issues when you get a new phone, make sure you delete the old phones from the dynavin's bluetooth menu, reset and reboot. Delete from the phone and reboot as well. Then with a completely clean slate try again.

Anyone have a copy of 1.2.1 or 1.2.1 or any OS older than 1.3.0? I flashed 1.3.0 onto my unit, but it shows up as a VW branded OS and the picture in OBC is that of a VW. I want to re-flash an older OS, factory reset it and then flash 1.3.0 on again.

Ill assume you ignored my question because of dodgey customer service, you'll not be releasing a new version, and that the units no be longer being production which also means no new parts. Pretty much makes my decison easier

I'll assume based on your two posts to BimmerForums that because of a lack of intelligence and dodgy reputation, you won't be buying one, nor will you be a great loss to Jeff and his excellent reputation.

Jeff, any word on any future releases for compatibility with current iPhone/android/pixel? phones? Also, do the units have HD radio? I know Avin is releasing a new unit within a month for e39/e38 so I'm curious is Dynavin is coming out with anything new. I've known about Dynavin for years and I have an older Dynavin unit in my car, I'm just looking for the latest and greatest at this time. Thanks.

Ive been sponsor of this forum for almost a decade and we are on the 6th generation of dynavin product.....with thousands of pages on the various BMW forms of me supporting my customers....you are on page 59 of this particular thread going back more than 3 years. If you dig a little you can find the thread before that...and the one before that... We are not going anywhere.

I did not answer that question, frankly because I missed it, BUT after looking at it, its a bit early to be answering anyway. The iphone 8 is just shipping now so there are only a handful of them out there. I got one this weekend that Ill be testing to confirm there are no issues but these things take a little time. There are no know issues with the various android phones (beyond the issues the phones are known to have) or iphones to this point. As for questions about future features or models, I generally don't answer those as nothing is set in stone until product ships. Yes, of course things are in the works, there are always things in the works, but posting publicly about future features that may or may not materialize in a forum like this is a recipe for a speculation nightmare that ruins these threads. Ive been down that road before and Ive learned my lesson.

-SiriusXM Satellite Radio ready with the addition of the Sirius SVX300 tuner


-Higher res, anti glare, screen.


-Capacitive touch screen.


-9 Band EQ


-"Android Link" for mirroring capability


-Lots of other little changes to improve hardware, feature usability, ease of install, etc....


They are still about a month out, taking preorders now.

I doubt there will be many more changes to the N6 firmware, the current firmware is the 7th?...9th? iteration so its fairly mature at this point. I do know of a couple little things I would like to see changed but right now their focus is on launching the new platform, maybe down the road when that is done I will talk to them about doing a few things to the N6.

Nope....but if you want to upgrade to a newer unit the ebay market is pretty strong on used units the last time I checked.

Hi Jeff,

Any chance that there would be a user's manual to peruse before buying an N7 ? There are a number of things that I'd like to know about in terms of functionality.

Also wondering about the XM radio reception, with the antenna being under the dash. That's just one item. Wondering if there would be a connection so one could simply use their existing antenna which, in my case, is mounted on the roof of my wagon ?
