My N6 started acting like an idiot today, called last contact 35 times in 10 minutes, radio stuttered every second, I have to press each physical button fast multiple times, and I can only listen to the local radio, if I switch channel it switches back in a second.
Haven't done anything to it other than updating the maps a month ago

This might have been said here, but I couldnt find it in the 30 pages I read. 2001 E39 540i w/ DSP will replacing the OEM with this unit fix the "cutting out" problem, or is that an amp on its way out.
depends on what is wrong with the stock system....there are quite a few points of failure in the stock system but generally the audio cutting out entirely is not the amp, if you are loosing specific channels intermittently or entirely, then its likely the amp.

Ok well, my screen doesnt show picture, completely black. So i just listen to cd's using the player in the trunk. No matter if engine is on or car in acc mode, all speakers just cut off to no sound and stays this way until i turn off the stock unit and turn it back on. I plan on purchasing your unit soon anyways, hope it fixes my problem :]
Yeah, from your description it does not sound like your amp is the cause of the issue, going to the dynavin should get you back in business.

I have everything installed. I noticed two things:
1. Occasionally, when I start the car it will not play any audio. If I stop, turn the car off, turn it back on, the audio works.
2. I am using Dynos 1.2.1 (I think). I see discussion of a version 1.3, but I can't find the download on the Dynavin website. Is there a newer OS available?

Its not something that an update would do anything for.....Its my belief that this DSP "no sound" thing has to do with the timing of the "handshake" between the DSP amp turning on and the ibus box. I have heard differing reports from customers however as to what causes it, pausing while turning the key, NOT pausing, turning on from the acc position, NOT turning on from the acc position, etc.... I have not yet had anyone give me a definitive answer that is repeatable but we HAVE found that the simple act of paying attention to how you turn the key will often alter the timing enough that the issue goes away! If anyone that has experienced this can isolate the timing and actually create it at will, let me know!

Jeff, I currently have an older dynavin (like one from 2010). I doesn't even recognize my new pixel, and the screen won't show anything from a dvd. How compatible are the current units with the new iphones and google phones? And what about HD Radio? Are you aware of any major updates on the horizon that are worth waiting for?

Wanted to pop in here because of a new issue I'm having.
I got a new phone yesterday (Galaxy S8+ running Android 7.0), and now it refuses to pair with my Dynavin running 1.2.1. Reset both, and it gives the "make sure Dynavin is in pairing mode and discoverable." I see it in my Bluetooth menu, but it won't connect. Anyone else having issues with this? My previous phone had no issues, was a Galaxy S6 running Android 7.0 as well). What would the latest OS for the Dynavin be, and how can I go about remedying this issue?

I've had my Dynavin now for a out 2 months. Now, I noticed that when I am playing an FM station and I go into reverse, the radio cuts off. It comes back on as soon as I shift out of reverse. Also, my navigation now does not give me the audio turn by turn direction. It used to do that.
Looks like I got burned by a cheap chinese unit which quit working after two years and Would be interested to know the answer to these questions.
Also noticed MFG is out of stock on the unit, are they still in production? If not, are there plans to release a new model?
If you have a reverse camera or PDC and you put the car in reverse the volume will be lowered. Its supposed to do that. If you dont have a camera or PDC turn the reverse function off in the system settings menu.
For the nav, the volume is turned down. There are a couple places where this could happen: Go to the volume settings within the nav program, check the settings. If everything is ok there, go to the setting where you choose the "person" who's voice you hear, select one (forcing it to talk) and simultaneously turn the volume button up.
The dynavin has a discrete volume setting for the nav so that when its talking and you turn the volume knob you are turning up or down ONLY the nav volume....so its likely you inadvertently turned the volume down on the nav, and you can only turn it back up while the nav is talking.
Thats a fairly old firmware you have on there, 1.3.0 is the current version and has some changes to bluetooth. A quick google of "samsung galaxie s8+ bluetooth wont connect" brings up A LOT of similar S8 problems but mostly from 5 months ago....would hope they worked them out by now! Generally speaking though if you are having bluetooth pairing issues when you get a new phone, make sure you delete the old phones from the dynavin's bluetooth menu, reset and reboot. Delete from the phone and reboot as well. Then with a completely clean slate try again.

Thanks for the response Jeff. I didn't realize my firmware was so out of date haha, I guess that's the price of having a device not connected to the Internet. If it's not too much trouble, would you be able to link the latest firmware to me?
Got it to work! Turns out the Bluetooth settings are hidden in the Phone menu, paired my phone and it plays with no issues.
