    Transmission code P0700 & P0709 as well as service engine soon light

    I'm just trying to understand the sequence of events here. I know what the codes stand for but ???
    P0700 = transmission control sys
    P0709 = transmission range sensor
    Then I get a MIL request.

    Is it safe to say when I get a fault P0709 because of the bad switch or bad contact it will also sent a P0700 (general failure) that turns on the MIL ?

    I can reset the P0709 and the MIL goes out but the P0700 code will not go away on my scan tool, does it take several starts or miles to reset or do I possibly have another issue?

    Did you ever resolve this issue?
