Question Need recommendations for good BMW shop near Palo Alto/Menlo Park, CA

I have a 2006 BMW M3 coupe and after taking it to Dinan Mountain View for an inspection II with 55k miles, they gave me a laundry list of repairs. They charge as much as the $STEALERSHIP so I am looking for a decent shop that does quality work on M3 BMW cars. Dinan says I need the following:

    constant oil pressure valve
    strut rod and bushings
axle seals due to leak for differential on right side
    washer pump
    brake fluid flush

They want like over 3K to do this work! I was so upset because I've had this great car for over 4 years and other than oil changes, tires, and brakes never had issues with the car. I don't want to dump a fortune into the car to keep it running for another 5 years.

constant oil pressure valve? how big is the oil leak?
Strut rod and bushing? really? get a second opinion
axle seals leaking how bad is the leak? I bet seeping not leaking
washer pump U can do that your self
Brake Flush should have been done with Inspection II
over all get a second opinion Dinan is slow and trying to over sell work. I've seen lots of cars that needed work so they say but not needed right now kind of work and they say it needs it now.. Just saying.

The Mountain View Dinan location sucks, imo. I agree that they will try to oversell the work that needs to be done. I have had far better experience with the Dinan location in Campbell.

That said, give Edge Motorworks a try. They're essentially just across the street from Dinan.

you can call these shops for quotes

    http://m.mainstreethub.com/bimmersindependent

    http://www.bimmershops.com/california/palo-alto-bimmer

or if you dont mind driving to the east bay, but his labor rate is super low price and good work

search for WTFgerman and PM him.

but all that work listed you can do yourself , if you don't mind getting your hands dirty , i have a brake bleeder you can use, jakino was right, the brake flush should have been done during inpst II

I've had good experiences at Trackstar Racing on Old Middlefield in Mountain View. Its been a few years since I've been in the area, but Steve treated me well.

If you don't mind driving to Dublin, go to Performance Technic. One of the best BMW shops in bay area. Check it on yelp.
