    1350 solid yoke for E36

I have been looking at my options for connecting my driveshaft to my yoke. I know I can use the Spicer flange adaptor but it's only a 1310 u joint. My car puts out to much HP/TO for that. I been looking into making a complete yoke. I need someone to do some measuring for me or if you have a spare pinion, I would buy it and use it. Anyone?

I don't think that exists. You guys seem to be putting together some big power daily drivers. I put 650+ hp and tq through a 1310 for 80k + miles (most of it with a magnacharger that builds boost instantly) with no troubles and I had 500 whp in two different e36s for quite a few miles with no chassis issues.

That's a relief to hear, rao. I am new to BMW's and to LS swaps, so knowing where to draw the line isn't always easy. Because I work for TrickFlow and deal with High Horsepower engines and gearheads everyday, I am conditioned to believe what they say. Not that its wrong, just that they are hardcore track guys and believe in rigidity and overbuilding for the strip.
I know there isn't one available but I was going to make a few at work, for anyone who is worried about the 1310 flange adaptor being a weak link. Do you think that its worth making one if it can be done?

I know, I deal with the "Give me free heads" all the time. I don't mind. We make a great product but it's expensive. Heck if I didn't work there I wouldn't have a set of them myself! I was hoping to find a yoke from another vehicle that has the same broaching done (number of teeth and major & minor Dia) Then just modify the seal bearing surface/lengths.

People breaking driveshafts, halfshafts and differentials before they break the spicer yoke adapters. But you never know, you could be the first one

might be over kill... but no one makes one still?

I contacted a company that makes billet ones, it would not be too hard for them to make one.

I found a pinion yoke to go from the 6 bolt BMW pattern to 1350.

You can easily swap a 6 bolt flange onto ur diff and use this. The adapter was only like 140$ shipped.

I gave them a telephone call since I couldn't find it on their website.

They sold me a 6-hole one for $140; the tech said it's the BMW E36 6-hole differential mount pinioned over to a 1350 U-joint mount. Apparently it's a relatively new item and one of their techs came up with the idea for them to make & market it.

I asked if they had a 4-hole, and he said he had never heard of them carrying one.

The six-hole 188mm E36 diffs aren't that common, so I'm kinda surprised they developed an adapter pinion. I think they just came on the 1995 M3 and a few 328s.

6 holes came on the medium case diffs on the E32 or E34, a little more common, but I don't know if the bolt circles are the same.

I have an e36 1995 M3 6-hole diff in inventory, so I'll try to remember to circle back here with a fit report.

dburt86, that's an awesome chassis for sale. I'd buy it but I'm stocked up. I'm trying to talk my friend Adam into buying it.

What's the typical way most LS swap driveshafts are made? I'm considering just having a Ujoint flange welded on the end and running a standard slip yoke. 1310 or 1350

I think Dana spicer makes a flange that bolts up to the BMW diff. JTR sells it as well as a few others. It's a 1310 joint, seems to hold up for everyone. I'm just looking to have a 1350.

The JTR adapter is modified. The center flange that centers it on the diff has a tiny ring machined onto it to have the right fitment.

I ordered it from East Coast Gear by phone on Friday afternoon, paid $15 for shipping, and I had it the next day by 2.

    It fits the E36 M3 1995 6-hole CV-joint differential input flange perfectly.

    P_20171008_084842_HDR.jpgP_20171008_084853_HDR.jpg

I also have the JTR 4-hole flange and I have been very happy with that one for the more commonly-available E36 differentials. Not that I run high horsepower, but I track the car, so I spin the snot out of the thing at triple-digit MPH with a less-than-optimal driveshaft install that's about .7 degrees off parallel angles for the trans and the diff. Moog 253 solid 1310/1330 conversion U joint to a stock Ford Foxbody driveshaft.

You guys are getting pretty wound-up about the drive line yokes...unless you have tubbed
the rear wheel houses for much wider tires than can fit in the stock chassis, the limiting factor
(weak link) for the drive train is when the tires begin to spin on dry pavement. At that point,
the driveshaft only absorbs the wheel spin torque and nothing more. So if you have 600lbft
of flywheel torque at the engine, and the tires spin at 350lbft, the driveshaft only "sees"
    the 350lbft.

The shock load on a manual car can be pretty bad, also a Z3 can fit 305 tires in the rear. Im just like to over build things, i have a RXT twin plate clutch with a T56 Magnum. Dont really want to have that feeding a 1310 joint. Im worried about the diff and CV shafts now.

Is that unit steel or aluminum? looks great.

It's steel and it looks just as good in the flesh.

I pulled my driveshaft yesterday. The stock Foxbody Mustang drive shaft is the right length to re-use with the JTR 4-hole adapter flange, although the slip-yoke insertion is a bit shy of normal. The 6-hole flange looks like it may take up more room length-wise. I won't be sure it fits until I mount it up to the shaft and see if the slip yoke takes up enough slack to accommodate the added length. If it doesn't, I need a better driveshaft anyway.

Guilty as charged. I don't even launch the car, since I'm a sports car track guy.

Yep, the 6-hole flange is 1.5 inches "longer" than the JTR 4-hole flange. My 45.5" (c-to-c) x 2.75" Ford driveshaft that I got from a Mustang Foxbody is too long, and that's saying something because I have my Ford 302 motor pretty far forward. If you put them too far back, they break engine mount bolts at the block. So, I'm getting a 43.5" welded up and balanced.

I believe this one is a little less expensive than the one from Summit racing.
