Hello, my name is arnoud, i live in the Netherlands, a little bit about the car:

I started out with a bare shell e23 745i about a year ago. The car was completely rustfree, added a whalenose conversion, front fenders, gril, did a respray in bmw 086 bmw schwarz. The brakes where completely overhauled with new seals and pads. I found a complete Highline interior, electric adjustable in fairly good shape. I redyed it in the original color oyster. The engine for now is a m30b35 218 hp version, i'm planning to build a new m106 engine in the near future.

Car has alot of options, obd1 computer, automatic climate control, electric seats. Added a mtech1 steering wheel from an early e28. Car is far from finished, but its getting somewhere now.

On pic 3 it looks like u have wood grain on the outside but it's just a wicked reflection.

Wow - that's a great looking car. No doubt you've spent some time on making it that way.

With that blacked-out treatment, it reminds me a bit of the E28 M5 and a bit of the original AMG Hammer. It's not an original look, but very tastefully modded.

The car was a bare shell when i got it about a year ago, so it gave me the opportunity to build it with the ideas i had in mind. I'm currently thinking about what engine i want to build for this car. On one hand i like the original m106 turbo engine, on the other i also like the idea of dropping a v8 m62 engine in it. Next winter(now summer here in holland) i'm planning to drop the new engine in.

Just got back my Mtech 1 steering wheel from the upholsterer today. Brand new leather with the M colour stitching







currently waiting on new m badge for the bottom of the steering wheel.

yes, the dashboard is covered in leather. Part of the original highline trim. Every pillar, centre consoles, dashboard, complete doorcards and rear shelf is covered in walknappa leather

i don't know if there exist highline models of the e23 in the usa. I know there were 329 made with either silber/quarzgrau leather upholstery or the oyster/mittelbraun combination what i have. Only between '85 and '86 models i believe.

The highline models in the US market were called L7's.
