I only attached my gopro to my coupe once...i think it was actually upsidedown in my cabin suction cupped to my sunroof. That wasn't the best perspective.
What's your go to in a coupe?
Going to Devens Airfield tomorrow for NE-SVT Autocross in the freezing cold. Devens is an old airfield and while it's autocross, it's really almost like a mini track day...times are usually ~70-~90 seconds per run. Want to capture some runs.
I use the stick-on mount and put it right in the center behind the seats on the plastic. I just left the little stick-on clip piece on there. It's been on there for over a year now. It's small and I never notice it. If I ever remove it, I may have a job cleaning the sticky stuff off.
Here is the stick-on piece:

Plus I had about a 6" arm which raised it up a bit.
Set GoPro to narrow view and it looks pretty good.
Here's a link to the view it makes:

Not a Coupe, but the best place I have found is on the inside of the windshield (low in the center). Should work the same on a Coupe. It doesn't give you a view of the driver, but I'm more interested in seeing the course.

One mounted on front bumper using an indstyle tow hook hole mount (I think that's who sells them), and another one mounted on the rear with a license plate "frame" mount. I'll move one around the outside of the car with a suction cup mount.

The best view of the course is on top of the car, front of the roof. Don't try the top of the windscreen (had to do that in the Roadster) unless your really good at not hitting the wipers by accident.
A really fun shot in the coupe is the side window just behind the driver. you get a nice shot of the front wheel and your excellent (or otherwise driving).
Never tried the inside hanging from the sun roof but that may be good (remember to inver picture). Inside front windscreen is good if you want the sound without an external mic.
Worst spot is front/low, just never looks good!
Some examples
If you have a Harness bar...
The first one above is my go-to. Don't count on good sound from the internal mic, though, unless you dig wind buffeting.
Second one can be good, but it's not an option if you have a passenger. If you want to capture driving inputs you have to angle it a little a toward the steering wheel or go super wide angle.

Anyone figure out how to mount a GoPro in the footwell without using adhesive?

I'm totally with SunzOut. I started on the drivers side quarter window (his first example) because I wanted to see what my hands were up to. I had noisy hands, so once I got those sorted out, I went to the front edge of the sunroof as low as possible (his second example and similar to Chamberlin, but lower.) This has been my standard autocross location for the last 2 years, because I can see the entire course and both sides of the car. For track days, I bring the GoPro inside, mounted upside down as close to behind the drivers mirror as possible (his third example) I still find that video helps with the analysis of every event. On the course, I'm like, 'Wow I nailed that apex!.... then, when I get home and watch the video... not so much...'
