I wouldn't have complained if I found a white e34 with black interior, but I think the blue interior was discontinued 1991. So having a m50 with the ultrmarine blue interior is a rare thing so I want to keep it now. I'm stubborn in dumb ways.
Really annoyed at the wreckers who had stock of interior parts but blew me off, I was counting on them when I bought this car to be a source of parts
The only thing I did today was put it up on stands and prelube the exhaust oxy sensor with atf/acetone.
Wow, up the top hey? Glad I didn't buy the ego special socket as there's no way to get a ratchet up there. Also glad I bought a 22mm flexi head ratchet spanner a few months back. I might get that on after cutting the wires (after making sure the replacement is right of course).
What do other people do? drop the exhaust or struggle with an open end spanner?

There was a guy on gumtree that had a m20 1989 blue interior. I'm pretty sure he had bought it for the engine for a 3 series project. They advertised it before they were ready to sell it, so every time I contacted them they said they hadn't finished taking all the parts they wanted off yet. Every few days I check back and send a message, then 4 weeks later the ad is pulled, wreck sold out from under me Another is a guy that sells parts on ebay. Says he's got a few interior blue parts for sure, but can't be bothered looking and just suggested I find a wrecking car, like WTF? Besides those 2 good leads I have rung up every wrecker in WA that advertises BMW, all say nothing on for the 34. I might have to pay $$$ to get parts sight unseen from the eastern states eventually as there's lots over east, just not in WA.
Ever since I bought this car the ads for e34s are getting rarer and rarer here. There was only the choice between 2 when I bought. Then 2-4wks later there was 4 more (so I was kicking myself), but then that was that. Seemed to have disappeared now (in WA) There's 1 dealer one that's been there for months, and a couple of silver ones for wrecking. I think most have ended up at the crushers over the past 3 months.

E34s are getting rarer and more expensive for sure. I also can't find wrecks anymore, a few local yards used to have 2 or 3 but only one of them has had an E34 in the last year and ironically it was a blue interior so I bought nothing from it. It's annoying since there's so many little pieces I want to replace that I can't find on eBay. Until two weeks ago, I didn't even know the backs of the headlights had covers because mine are missing.
If you find a good cheap place, please do let me know. I really need to replace my shifter since the leather is coming unstitched and I'm an OEM only kind of guy.
Been searching for those seats for over a year for my M sport. Arizona car with a baked interior. Where did you find them and are there more?
Friday, I Installed new flexible fuel lines at either end of the fuel rail (including the OE U-bend at the regulator for the low low price of $27), and the OE hose clamps for only $3 a piece!
Today I cleared the first snow of the season from the e34 and seem to have fixed the clod weather fuel leak from when I tried to go cheap fixing the same lines last year.
Now i just need to dig out and install the winter set of rollers, as these dunlops are absolutely worthless in the snow
I picked up some 16" e60 wheels style 134 for $200. Maybe not the best looking wheels but they came with fairly new michelin pilots and they are super easy to clean.
I actually didn't know they were a straight bolt on with out needing hubcentric rings. I have a 12mm spacer in the rear and 10mm in front. I also did a Mondrian vinyl wrap on the roof.
Found another well weathered fuel line in the rear which was seeping gas and figured I would replace that before it got any worse.
While i had the right rear wheel off, found the culprit to my missing speed signal (broken wiring at the harness) and repaired that until i can get a new harness from the junk yard. Nice to have a speedometer and all of the other speed sensitive items back in action!
Also drained and filled the Mobil 1 in the crankcase, and the royal purple in the trans.
Things are looking solid for mountain driving this ski season... Except the fact I'm still rockin the summer rubber, but its just been so nice!
Put in the 3.15 LSD
Both my rear regulators magically started working after 6 months of being dead, but my rear passenger door is now stuck locked. I don't get it...
Today? Nothing. Yesterday? Bought my first bimmer! Its an E34 520i Touring from 1996, in its original shape. Everything is bone stock. Other than some paint correction, theres basically nothing to do on it. No rust sports or anything. I am the second owner, the previous owner was a german doctor so you know it was kept well. It has 192.000km in it as of now, and it runs like a dream. I can't wait for it to be shipped to me... 4 days left, damn. I only have pictures from the advert yet. After renewing and correcting the paint i plan on add clear indicators, tail lights, lower it by just a bit, get some 17 or 18 alloys, some wheel spacers, and maybe a front lip. Oh also, i need to wrap the interior trim. I really dont like this fake wood thing. While we are at it: Hi everyone! Good to be a part of the forum!
Car is a 1995 e34 touring AT with 260k miles.
Last week, new inner/outer tire rods and a much need alignment.
This week, has a 4.27 LSD from an e34 535i installed. A little added boost off the line and should help in the snow (along with snow tires).
Replaced the HVAC blower and removed 27 years of gunk from the blower compartment... Right now I'm thankful I have an m50!!! Sadly, the cabin filter will have to wait until my fingers heal...
Installed new blower motor resistor. Now I have all four fan speeds. Original one lasted 25 years so it didn’t owe me anything.
@tantumaude ,
https://imgur.com/a/s17kl this is from the advert not sure if it works. Gotta wait until the end of this week
My rear window regulators, which never worked since I bought the car in June, magically both started working. Alas, now my rear passenger door won't unlock. All these parts just sitting on the shelf make me want to do something!
I replaced the knob for the fan blower. At some point a P.O broke one of the tabs that held it on and under heavy acceleration, it would come off and fly onto the back seat and I'd have to pull over and search for it. At last I can take off and not have to search for it!
Replaced both regulators, and one actuator. Installed winter wheels (style 5s)
Replaced hood struts. Now I can retire my backup stick!
Today I made the E34s a little jealous
Ordered a steering wheel and an Element fire extinguisher and under seat mount. Received my M trunk lid filler and the book "BMW M5" by James Taylor.
It's been like Christmas here, what with part arriving every day!

I removed the dark ass window tint from the rear doors and rear window. Now if it is too sunny in the back of the car I will just use my window shade. Adjusted the windshield washers so that all 4 spray in just the right spot. Gave it a hair less toe in. Tightened valve cover bolts.
Mine is an ongoing thing. I started off doing the stuff that needed doing, now even minor details are getting my attention, I am enjoying bringing it back to full health.
I just did the rear door seals and in the New Year, I am going to investigate why I lost oil on a long journey (I was hammering the hell out of the car).
I am going to replace the spot lights, get the condensation out of one of the headlights, replace all bulbs.
In the summer, I will change the plugs, oil, filters.
Here it is
