Gave my girl a new wheel a couple days ago. I love the thumb rests and the fact it's a bit smaller.

Finally bought some rubber and mounted the M Systems that I got almost 4 years ago and have been sitting in my garage.
^^ looks great (and makes me kinda miss my 15" basket weave winters with the centers painted black... But just a little bit)
I myself got into a fresh serving of mobil 1 for the 535.
Also did a valve adjustment using .008 at the cam instead of the .009 I have been using... THIS is how the m30 was meant to sound and feel. For years I have hated the noise from the valve train and felt it was excessive, but comforted myself in the general opinion that the m30 is naturally loud.
I was sceptical that my slightly tighter adjustment would produce better results when the rockers were about the same "loudness" compared to .009 when actuated by hand... But the lack of noise all buttoned up and at full operating temp is fantastic!!! There is definitely a pleasant undertone of sewing machine, but not the overbearing racket it used to be. Just hear that sweet exhaust burble SO much better (used no stereo today).
Great thing to figure out after over a half decade and 40k miles
On the 1995 525i moved her to Las Vegas and immediately replaced Windshield Wiper Relay even though there is very little rain in the desert. But the wipers work again!

Replaced my hail damaged hood, trunk and rear bumper (camping incident), with some nice condition donors from the pull-a-part.
Car also donated a sunroof motor, rear seat bottom cushion, and coolant level sensor with wiring.
Feels great to fix a lot of little nagging problems with a nice car at the parts yard!
Installed Mtech side skirts last weekend...

Glued the flaky, incredibly dust-generating pad back to the sunroof panel. Attempted to adjust it for a while, but the "superseded" (0.5mm thicker) gasket is just too tight to allow a smooth transition from slide-open to pop-up/vent. I never use it anyway, just want to make sure it doesn't leak in heavy rain and car washes enough to overrun the drains.
(There is STILL a small amount of water getting into the left front carpet somewhere under those circumstances - but neither I nor the body shop that replaced the windshield can find it. They swear it is not from the windshield sealant, but what else can drip from underdash/steering column?)

Fixed the O2 sensor (cleaned it) and did a factory reset to all ECUs.. it's like having a new car...

Visited the junkyard today and found some in tact trim pieces and sunroof motor cover, though not quite the right color it's better than the switch hanging down.

Water pump installed, mechanical fan removed and electric fan installed..
PRO TIP ! Use Permatex Indian head gasket shellac on the paper gasket to hold it in place.. Also - Have a model car paint brush handy to apply it as the one provided is WAY too big.

A/C was a little weak yesterday (heat and humidity this summer in southern MO have really sucked!) so I put the gauges on it. Sure enough, in 78F ambient the high side was only 110 psi. Added R-134a from my 30# tank to 185 psi (rule of thumb is 2.2 to 2.5 times the ambient temp in deg F) and it's cooling like a fridge now. The proof will be in the next 90F, 90% day.
Must be a very small leak (or summation of leaks) since I have not added any since I bought the car 3(?) years ago. In fact there was a tiny "pft" from each plastic cap when I removed them from the ports, but it's not worth the very slow refrigerant loss to change the Schrader valve cores.
Also I'd been getting an occasional "Washer Fluid Low" message but it's not low. Discovered that the connector to the level sensor is not properly secured.

On the subject of ACs, my compressor broke. It seems it didn't know how to shut off and ran itself into the ground so I'm getting a new one next week. I'm mystified about what could've caused it to jam on.
Other than that I swapped all the interior seats to black leather and replaced the gas struts in the trunk.
Finished assembling my bixenon projector assemblies. Also pulled bumper trim in anticipation of doing the aux fan tomorrow. Cleaned out two of the sidemarker bulb sockets, which solved my no-light issue.

Changed oil and filter. Also replaced front turn lights with new ones. The old clear ones surrounding was old and coming off, letting water in. No bueno.

I just drove mine. I've been putting off some jobs because I have another car to do panel and paint on, and I've been sick so not done much of that either.
I normally just carefully test drive my e34 after a repair or mod, just going around the block and usually in econ mode and under 3k.
Today I drove it and let it rev out in sports mode and even though it has only 141kw, I've got a grin ear to ear. It revs so fast after ~3k...
E: double post for some reason...
Anyway, in a week or two is rtabs and subframe bushes, then alignment and tyres and that's it for a while, I'll keep looking out for better interior bits and pieces from wrecking cars.
