Lightbulb What is the most impressive e36 restoration you've seen?

There have been a number of build threads all over the web. Which have you found to be the most well done or inspirational builds?

I'm not sure it's the most impressive, but this one is a personal favourite:

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=80165 maybe not a restoration per se, but always makes me want an e36 every time I read it

It's not super impressive but it's definitely my favorite. I bought this car as a basket case for $700. I put $3500 into it over 3 years and I tried my hand at car painting. By the time I was done I had swapped out the entire interior, full suspension refresh, entire cooling system, motor mounts, ZF 5 speed swap to get rid of my junky Getrag 5 speed, new clutch and tons of little items.

That might be the most stunning e36 I've ever seen. It says a lot about these cars when you can say that about a car that hasn't been modified. I'm FAR from a purist, but you just can't make that better.

    - 98 m3, techno/anthrazit cloth, 124k and officially worthless - 89 m3, alpine/black 143k and officially old - 2000 323it, tiag/grey, 169k and officially boring

Scroll down to devildog's posts (2,3).

Not as much work but here are the reasons I love it:

    A. I live 5 miles from this car, and see it everywhere
    B. It had the same issue my car has, and I want to do the same job but haven't yet

To be fair, I've probably spent 40k over the life of my car (including purchase) and it gets worse every year as well.
