Hi everyone, new E21 owner here. I've been a long time BMW fan and have owned an E30, 2 E36s and an E46. Currently I drive an E82 135i as my daily. My son had been looking for an E30 to replace his that was written off last year. I ran across an ad for a 79 320/6 that was midway through a restoration with all the hard bits already done. The owner had been slowly restoring it over the last 18 years. All the rust has been cut out and replaced with oem metal, complete respray, rebuilt engine, transmission , new suspension components with Bilsteins and Bavauto lowering springs. The list goes on. The interior is almost completely gutted. My son and I decided to buy it together and finish it as a father/son project. There is still a lot of re-assembly to be done and I will need a lot of help and advice.
Here's what we've got to work with.
Finally home
Parts pile. There's another one on the other side of the garage just as big.
Brand new wheels and tires. The tires still have the stickers on them.
It's got a lot going for it but like I said, I'll need a lot of help and will be asking a lot of questions, so thanks in advance.
I must say, 'that's a helluva good start'! Daryl (OLD MAN) may be able to give you some pointers, especially under the hood and fuel supply. Just ask away when you're ready. And welcome to the group

Looks like a fast one! Welcome.
What a basis for a good project car, looks like the hard parts are already done. I also own a 320-6 with carburettor, they can be a tease, but if everything goes awry you can get a flange for the original manifold so you can mount a holley. Should give a bit of extra oompf as well
Thanks for the welcomes. It really is a great base to start with. So many brand new parts already on the car and sitting in boxes ready to go on its crazy. I'm going at it slowly. Should be on the road in a couple months I hope. I will keep this post updated with our progress.

I'M just curious as to how he could possibly identify this as his car.
same color
I assume it got sold and made its way through a few hands, I seriously hope it wasn't stolen
^ real owner of my cars
exactly!
seriously, jimdemonic posted a tread in jan, 2015 claiming his euro E21 was stolen from a (assumed) storage facility and fast1eddy (OP) took possession of this 320/6 in May of 2014, now demonic is claiming it to be his car. maybe the car was stolen back in may of 2014 and demonic didn't notice until jan, so let's see if it adds up.
demonic's car was white..... fast1's car is freshly painted blue = stolen and painted
demonic's car had 4 mis-matched wheels..... fast1's car has four matched mutispokes = stolen but sold with new wheels
demonic's car had a Motorsport valance...... fast1's car has a standard E21 valance = stolen and valance removed
demonic's car had grey recaros.... fast1's car has blue seats = stolen and seats painted to match the body
demonic's car had a M90 ...... fast1's car has a M20 = stolen and engine replaced
demonic's car is a facelifted model..... fast1's car is a prefacelift model = stolen and body replaced
bottom line, fast1's car is the same as demonic's stolen one and he better give it back! either that or demonic is delusional!
