They are tight, as long as the engine doesn't tilt too much they will be fine.

Think you could bend them a little bit for more clearance?

The engine shouldn't tilt more than about 1/4" or so, as long as you're using the M5 engine mounts.

ERR, There is a big box of left over bits. Have to see what I can find. That second new axle nut still eludes me.

I had 3 bolts after I did my chain guides. That was 75k miles ago. So I guess I didn't need them.

If you don't have anything left over - it is still broken. You need to fix it again...........

Last night I fired up the coding computer, changed the mileage in the LCM to match the cluster, changed the DSC to the M5 settings, changed the VIN and ZCS code in the cluster, and made the few changes to the IKE trace file (speedo pulse input, fuel tank size).
The original VIN is still in the DME, I don't think there is any need to change that.
As far as I can tell the wiring and coding are complete!
I just have to get the driveshaft back, reinstall the exhaust, and modify the hood.
The exhaust looks like the M5 cat pipes will line up with the 740 back half, with a little welding of course.
    I'm ready to drive.

All of that is correct, though you might have a problem selling the car with lowered mileage, but you're not going to sell that car

The m5 front exhaust will mate up directly to the rear 740 exhaust. I can't wait until you get the driveshaft back and drive that thing with no hood on like I did when I got mine running.

I'm not worried about the mileage. I've always heard that law was to keep shady used car salesmen from ripping people off. If I were to ever sell it whoever buys it would already know exactly what is going on.
I was amazed it started on the second try (fist try I hadn't connected the battery cable to the starter, but I heard the relay click. Doh!) and the laptop communicated with everything without any issues. I guess research and homework pays off.

I'm guessing you remembered the ground wire on the passenger side to the engine, right?

The mileage wasn't that different between the cars anyways, was it? You going back to work today? I might try to stop by on my way back from AL if it's not too late and if it's cool with you.
