Hello Jed,
Just looking for an update on the tool shipping est?
TKU much,
Matt
SF tool arrived late Monday afternoon, the name tool was bugging me so I renamed it the "Jedi M5"...a nod to the man making it all possible...& sounds better than the "subframe bushing tool"...easier to ask is the "Jedi M5" available?

My update;
Finished using the "Jedi M5", no way to do this job without it. After reading the instructions was easy to pull the bushings out with "extra wrenching" with the 24mm socket inc. By chance IM going to Sacramento & plan on dropping it off to okisbig next week. The two front bushings were more stubborn, the rears one went in quite a bit just by pushing, needed to finish it with the Jedi M5. I still need to do VC gaskets, cooling hoses, bleed brakes, oil pan gasket, brake hoses.
Cleaned all the parts off ready to use again. Get some grease, it is the key, jack stands, floor jack, read instructions, it really is an easier job than expected, my car is still down so will be a few more days to feel the results. The bushings although splitting were not in as bad of shape as I expected,
GREAT TOOL...AKA...THE JEDI M5...

All - Good thread, but I feel it is lacking in some good photos. I did this job yesterday using the BavAuto tool since the Koch kit is no longer available. I ended up removing both fender liners. Did the project from start to finish in 4H:22M.
Here's a link to my photos:

Anyone currently renting the tool? Either way, I'd like to add myself to the waiting list.
Anyone on here try the Rein Subframe mounts? FCP has a sale for $33 a pop right now. I was going to hold on doing the subframe mounts till I actually diagnose where my rear vibration is coming from, but I don't want to miss out on a deal.
Any input on the Rein mounts vs the Meyle's??

If I end up getting these, I will have to reserve my name on the list!

i dunno man, the Lemfeorders are only $100 more for the set, I'd rather go with that. Rein is made in China, and that's not necessarily a bad thing but for an item like this, I probably spend a little more. I use Rein for non critical parts so I'm all for saving some money here and there.
This is too PITA of a job to do it twice!
From what I heard, the Meyles are actually solid on the inside (no fluide) and last even longer, theymight be worth a shot!
Yeah the Meyle's would be roughly $40 for the set. I'll have to throw my car on the jack stands to see what's going on under the car that's causing my vibration. If they don't look good (very probable), I might bite the bullet. I have an entire wish-list that I have to prioritize.
Thanks for the quick response!
EDIT: And btw, this is what is on FCP about the Meyle bushings: "Meyle HD bushings are redesigned from the OEM part to have a longer service life. This bushing features solid rubber construction instead of the more traditional OE style hydro fill."

I PM’d Jed about the tool rental but have not received a reply so I started looking into buying the tool myself and I can only find international sellers selling it for around $200 shipped from the UK.

thinking about buying the tool from uk Ebay, I'm also waiting on another guy to respond about renting me the tool. $200 ain't bad.
It seems like the ebay one only gives you one extension rod, whereas the members on this forum give you 4 extension rods to lower the entire subframe, (not just one side at a time). Wonder if the Ebay one will work with only 1 extension rod...

It took 6 weeks to show up but I plan on trying it this weekend. Ill let you know how it goes.
Howdy all. I'm looking to rent the tool. Approximately how long is the waiting list?
there isnt a list at moment, at least i dont think. i purchased a tool and will be trying it out this weekend. if all goes well it would be available for someone next week.
Alright Keep us updated, I'd like to rent the tool from you when you're done. I'm located in North Carolina. Lemme know if you run into any trouble lowering the subframe. I think the person that used to rent the tool includes 4 longer subframe bolts that allow the subframe to drop further inorder to fit the tool onto the bushes.
Talk soon!
